Question - How many people quit when they have a losing team
Well, I have to admit having a losing team in a sim league does suck. Most of you who had a losing team would prolly agree with me especially if there prospects suck too.
Question is did you ever quit the league because your team was worth a penny at the most? When I was younger playing BBPRO around 5-6 years ago I have to admit that I use to quit if my team royally tanked. I believe I left a couple of leagues because of my garbage team which by the way was obviously inherited. As for recently I've been playing in the NBSL and my team has been tanking for the past three yrs. At the begging of the tanking it was all my fault because I had no money to re-sign some players so I traded them away and/or let them go in free agency. And that is when the losing all began. At the begging of my dry spell I was considering leaving the league but now a yr later and still sucking I am happy I never left. To me I would love to see my team tanking and then out of nowhere start to do better. These days I consider losses not so bad and having two to three more losing seasons won't kill me. As for dropping the league the only reason I would ever now would be because of personal reasons. As of a couple of days ago I joined another league. And yes my team is another rebuilder. This use to piss me off but not anymore. Actually the only piss of is that I inherited a rebuilder. Anyway did you or would you quit a league cause your team sucked? As of now the answer is no, Last edited by Hubertdd1; 07-15-2003 at 03:36 PM. |

My favorite teams are the ones that suck, and the ones that win.
The .500 teams are the ones where I sometimes get bored. Although I've only dropped three teams before - one because I had personal issues and had to leave the league (I later returned) and two because I didn't find myself with as much time as I'd anticipated. I love sticking with my online teams and seeing what develops over time.

I have to agree with Eckstein. I love rebuilding and I love championship teams... I hate the perennial .500 teams (even in real life). They just never seem to have direction.
Give me a rebuilding team any day and I will relish the challenge of building it up. In fact PLEASE never give me a winner handed to me. What is the point in that? |

I quit when my team has won several years in a row, but that wasn't an option so I can't vote.

Quitting is for suckers..
Fight it out, and eventually the team will turn a corner. |

Honestly I would have never expected to see such a resounding vote thus far for "I never quit."
The reason I say this is because in different leagues I always see some lousy teams always rotating owners, and it's usually the same couple of teams too... Anyways, Yeah |

The only teams I've quit so far had just finished first in their divisions.
But none of my teams is in first right now, and I might have to drop one. W-L is really not a factor at all.

I have never inherited a good team. I've built good teams out of initial drafts that have stayed good or decent over time, but any team I take over in an established league has to suck, or I'm not interested.
And boy do I have some crappy teams I'm working with now. |
