Question regarding newest patch

OK, so OOTP15 was finally where I was enjoying it ... the mods I had installed were working well and I wasn't getting any real bug issues in the modes I play.

So, I'm wondering, is there anything in this new patch that is really necessary? I have gotten in the habit right now of playing mainly historical games - taking teams and making a few changes to see if I could alter some moments in their histories. I do occasionally start a modern game.

I really don't want to go through the time issues of changing all the nicknames and everything I've read about. There is enough time taken setting things up the way I want them now without adding more. I don't give a hoot about the 3D - not really planning to worry about it at all for a few years until its been finetuned.

So, can anyone tell me whether it's necessary to download this patch? I'm leaning towards not at this point in time.

IMO you'll be fine without Patch 3.

I'm done downloading patches(unless we are talking the long awaited FHM patch).

I haven't downloaded it yet and I'm still on the fence as to whether I will or not. If I do it won't be until I'm finished with the season/league I'm in now. For me it's not really necessary but when the time comes to download this patch I'll be using one of the quickstarts anyway so it won't be an issue.

I've made hacked majors QSs in the past (including one for Patch #2) so this is nothing new to me. I'm still not patching, though.
