All-Star Game in Association Unavailable?
I've been running a fictional historical league which did not play an All-Star Game initially. In this league's history, they decided to begin playing one in the 1930s. When I go to select the option, the checkbox flashes but doesn't stay checked. I've tried this during both off-season and during pre-season. Is there a reason I can't select to have an All-Star Game in this league?
EDIT: Realized this is due to the leagues being in an Association. Last edited by Pan; 05-20-2014 at 11:23 AM. |

You may also have to temporarily turn on commissioner mode in order to make changes to the league settings.

I created a fictional league but started it in 1901. I am importing the financials, strategies, and stats consistent with each year. However, the game is currently in 1935 and the All-Star Game option still refuses to be set. It just blinks/flashes when I click on the checkbox and won't actually check.
I've tested in Commish mode and non-Commish mode with no difference. |

You also need to be in Pre season

In Pre-Season now (Jan 28, 1935) and will not allow the checkbox to be checked. I also attempted during the off-season with the same results.

Not sure if this would matter, but you do have 2 subleagues, right?

I just had a thought on why this isn't working and want to see what you all know about it. Although I called my game a "league" it is actually two major leagues in an Association. Each league has just eight teams, no sub-leagues or the like. I'd like to have an All-Star Game between the leagues each summer.
Since the checkbox for "Hold All-Star Game" is under the league settings and not the Association settings, is it possible to have an AS Game between leagues in an Association? Does the game not allow me to check that setting because it thinks I want an AS Game within each league? EDIT: And sure enough, if I add a second sub-league then I can check the AS box in one of the leagues. However, that's just going to provide an AS Game between sub-leagues, right? I need it between the major leagues in the Association. Last edited by Pan; 05-20-2014 at 10:49 AM. |

So after looking through forum posts and coming up empty, I'm going to go with the assumption that All-Star Games between leagues are not possible in an Association. I haven't played OOTP in a few years so Associations are new to me. I thought they were the equivalent of the MLB in relation to the NL and AL but maybe they're a higher tier than that?
At any rate, if anyone can tell me differently in regards to AS Games in an Association, please do. Otherwise, I'll have to rethink my leagues. |
