International Amateur Free Agents

Hello,

Almost all of the International Amateur Free Agents in my fictional league are from the United States. My fictional league is in the United States.

My players settings for international players does not include the USA so I'm at a loss as to why Americans are showing up as International Amateur Free Agents.

Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks all.

If you go into the league options and then go on the player tab there should be three "International Amateur Free Agents" options. One deals with how many are generated, one deals with signing amount and one deals with nationality of players. You want to go into the nationality one and edit that.

Note to self: Princess Kenny was really off-putting.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I have checked that setting and the United States is not selected as a nation. So I still don’t understand why over ½ of the players found are from the USA. Odd.

Can you post a screenshot of that settings page? Something's clearly off.

And here is a shot of the transactions page listing international amateurs from the United States.

I had this issue in my game, too, and figured out how to fix it! I'm going to assume you're running a similar setup, with foreign leagues enabled. What I did was went into league settings and for each international league, changed the total international amateur and established free agents generated annually to 0 (none). Make sure you leave the option enabled in your main league in the US. Ta-da! Problem solved

That makes sense. Leave that on in foreign leagues and it will be predisposed to generated USA amateurs for them. Good eye, ChiefWahoo.

Good suggestion, however, I don't have a foreign league in my universe.

I just noticed that when I edit a player's nationality, the top of the menu that lists what I presume are the most common nations has the Dominican listed twice. Could something be screwed up in my nationalities database or something? (I actually have no idea if that's possible or a thing.)
