Injured players not being swapped...?

So I have the AI set up my lineup and depth charts, and there subs available for my catcher, who is injured (utility 1 starts every 15th). But when I go to sim a game, the sub isn't being inserted - the catcher slot is just empty. Is there something I'm missing as to how to make this automatic?

It will only be automatic if you change substitutions to AI-controlled in the pregame set up screen, or change the substitution frequency from every 15th to "when starter is tired." Otherwise the game is set up to not assume that you want the guy who is only starting occasionally to be the primary injury back-up.

Are you getting a message telling you that the sim can't continue?

There is a difference between manage and sim. When I sim there is no lineup to see.

If you are playing ie managing the game then you must change the default if you want the AI to set the lineup.

I guess I meant "manage."

I figured that the starting lineup (even with player-controlled substitutions) would be picked naturally based on the charts, including injury replacements, but I guess not! (I was having the same problem when "startup is tired" was selected.)
