Minor League service time limits

From the features list:
Quote:
League Options & Settings
- Added customizable spring training length (1-6 weeks)
- Added the option to set a roster size for Spring Training. Together with the option to sign players to minor league contracts which include a major league option, this results in the possibility to invite free agents to Spring Training.
- Added the option to allow teams to 'post' players who are not yet FA-eligible for foreign leagues, including an editable maximum posting fee
- Added the option to assign a repuation level to a league, which is used in player contract AI
- Added the option to set service time limit and age limit rules for minor leagues
- Added the option to limit contract length and prohibit contract extensions
- Added the option to have a non-editable ticket price
- Added a setting that prevents leagues with a disabled amateur draft to auto-generate fictional free agents
- Added the option to set a fee for which teams from other leagues may purchase contracts of players. This is useful if you have independent leagues in your game.
- The trading AI frequency no longer is a global setting, but can be set for each major league individually
I see the ability to add age-limits for minor leagues has been added, but I can't seem to find the service time limit setting. Any help or is it not there for others as well?

Any info on this? I've been wondering the sane thing.

This was not added as a feature; only the age limits, for which we should be grateful after asking for something for 20 years......

But to be honest the AI seems to do a lot better job of keeping the 30 year olds out of Rookie ball than it used to and these limits are not needed as badly as before.

Also, something that I'll be employing a lot more, now that I'm paying closer attention... You can always tweak the Overall Roster Strategy for your minor leagues far to the prospects side, which, if it works, should force the AI manager(s) to play the younger guys more anyway. But you're right, it doesn't look like A ball is crowded with has beens.

There is a new option under League Setup -> Stats & AI tab under "General AI Roster Settings" where you can now set a league to base playing time on Current or Potential Ability.

I know, and that has been the subject of the possible bug where the AI resets all the minors to "Current Ability" after the first season ends. Awesome feature, but I wonder (if it's not working properly) it could be contributing to slower player development.

I doubt it would affect development much, as if it's not working, you'd just have the status quo from before.

Smal sample size but I noticed a small amount of under 25 guys (compared to my saves in OOTP14) in my test league.

I thought about raising the devolpment settings until I realized that the problem that was mentioned could be the culprit.

Well, I think OOTP14 may have had too many under 25 players.....there may have been an issue with international players developing too quickly.

Not if we are talking about modern day. It was pretty spot on with the data I had. I would even go as far as saying the default modifiers gave us less Under 25 players when compared to the league since 2008.
