Do Feeders Add Much to a League-Report Dynasty?

So I am working on my next dynasty idea, which involves the independent leagues working together to create more stability and structure (so effectively a fictional league) and a bit better pay. I decided that they'd take the leftover players from MLB, so I'd increase the draft generated size in MLB from 35 to 50 to insure there were extra players available. the MLB would not be the focus of the Dynasty--it's there mostly to see if anyone from the indie leagues can make it to the ML level.

I also wanted to include the other international pro leagues, so that they had further opportunities to move on for higher pay.

Then I thought, "hey maybe I should create feeders to make this world really sing?"

And in a test--well, the game simmed fine, but it looked like it would take a little over an hour to get through so many major and minor leagues and feeders.

It got me thinking that I was trying to make things too complex. So I either need to drop the feeder leagues OR drop the international leagues. I'm inclined to axe the feeders, because while I can see writing a yearly post "Baseball around the globe" I don't see myself saying much about how, say, Louisville College did in 2017.

The question is--do feeders add enough to the game to make them something I HAVE to keep, given I want to have a nice, large pool of AAA-AA-A players? Or will having new players auto-created serve me just as well, allowing me to keep the JPN, IBL, etc?

Thanks for any advice. I'm not new to OOTP, but there are some things (like feeders) that I never, ever touched before.

Really feeder leagues are there more for development purposes and immersion than anything else. What they provide is a better idea of what a player plays like leading up to the draft. This is more useful for stat-only leagues where you don't have any ratings in the draft to give you an idea of a player's talent. Personally I don't use them.

Note to self: Princess Kenny was really off-putting.

I agree with Matt. They are too bulky for the actual return and they really limit immersion since all players will be from the same handful of teams. Drop the feeders, keep the international league.

If I'm not mistaken they were implemented before draftees had high schools/colleges they came from with stats generated based of their ratings. At the time they were a big thing for immersion but now I am totally with HP. They limit immersion because the fact is your prospects won't all be coming from X number of high schools and universities. They'll be coming from thousands. Tens of thousands even.

Appreciate it, guys. I was inclined to dump them, but I figured I'd ask the experts first.

Hoping to test-run a few seasons and get the Dynasty going soon. It involves a certain notable wanna-be owner giving up on MLB and focusing on creating a legacy by creating a low-scale alternative (with unknown to the independent league ambitions of far more).

Yeah, I use Cuban in my stories a lot, too. He's in my next one as Commissioner.
