What should the trade settings be for OOTP15?
Can we use average/neutral and have it be realistic?

I think so. OOTP is much better with the AI and it's a lot tougher to dominate. It used to be that you could do an inaugural draft and immediately build the best franchise for years. No more. Marcus has made the AI a lot smarter.

I can attest to that. The AI does a fair job recognizing trade imbalances when trying to stockpile younger talent, and asks for bonafide major league talent in exchange. Last year, it seemed that the AI would be more accepting of these trades and ignore a player's intangibles. Not any more.

I posted about this a while ago, and I asked a couple questions and I had decided with the advice of a couple people to bump up my trade difficulty to hard. I started a franchise with the Toronto Blue Jays and was able to pick up Dennis Martinez, Dale Murphy and Gary Carter.
Thought it was a little unrealistic that my 77 Toronto Expansion Blue Jays would be able to pick up those guys in a trade, so after those trades, I changed it to hard to make it more difficult. I know that a couple people also said they like to say for them to favour prospects. |

Glad to see the AI is getting smarter. I am glad to have watched the AI evolve over the years.

First time OOTP player. Wondering what life was like before OOTP now....
However, trading in OOTP at default settings is insanely too easy. I can not offer a suggestion right now however. After taking control of PITT in 2014, now on 2016. I have the top 15 prospects in the minors. My minor system score is over 500 while the next closes is a RLF of mine controlling KC, his score was 90. I told him what I have been doing and his score is rising while all teams are basically going to a 0 score. Clearly we farm prospects, so increasing AI value on prospects is our first step to fine tuning this. Honestly if you looked at our rosters you would laugh. Oh and farming MN who has a great system right now is easy mode, go grab Sano, Buxton, and McAndrews (can't remember 1B with the HR power).(I have never not played my Twinkies in SIMs and would be able to say the same to this day, if it wasn't for the horrid contract they gave Mauer. Doomed the organization almost a decade.) If you come up with a good setting please post it, I will be spending a great deal of time fine tuning, to get ready for large competitive online league. So if I come up with something I dig , I will post in new thread. For the record, I am giving harsh opinions on the game, only cause I do love it so much and I see its great potential. I do not feel for a second I haven't got my $40 worth. Nor will I be a fan boy who sits by and never voices opinion/concern at the state of the game. It is buggy as **** right now and there is a TON of work that needs to be done. There wouldn't be such a devout fanboy following with the game if we had anything to worry about. Heck I was mad about the steam discount and got an unnecessary apology and explanation from the devs in the thread. That is rare and classy!

I just set mine to "hard" and "neutral". I just exercise self-control and not accept trades that still seem lopsided to me.

100% with you on that. Infact it was my buddy, who I have to manually process trades for. Who started submitting these trades where I was like .... well WTF......, how did he pull that off. He gave me the idea, I took it too another level and exercised it to the fullest. And you bet ya, it cheapened my experience with that league.

My flaw is I start at hard/neutral, then I will go for a bit, but be so upset that my still useful players garner absolutely no interest. So I go back to average for a bit, make a couple good deals. Then my team gets good, and I find a deal that seems so incredibly lopsided for me, that I go back to hard, and just suck it up that my players have no trade value.
