Not quite sure what the question is...
Are you wanting to host the league's files and web pages on your own computer? This is possible, but very impractical in most situations. I specialize in software, not networking; but I believe you'd need a static IP address (or use a dynamic IP router service like dynDNS). On top of that, you'd have to be running web server software on your machine; and depending on your expected server load and machine specs, this can be qutie a drag for the average user. |

Well the thing is....I do have my own static IP, and my machine, while not a designated server should be equipped to run a site. I mean...how often would I get hits...maybe 20 or 30 a day or so. Only people in the league would ever visit.

True....it's usually up about 98% of the time.
I guess I am just looking for some thoughts on if it's an ok idea, and if people would go along with it. The thing is....I run coldfusion and I could make a pretty dynamic web site for free, instead of paying $10-$20 a month to host the site. |

I'd say go for it if you have a static IP.
You still may want to think about shelling out the few bucks a month to register your domain... but you should be fine I'd imagine. |

Yeah, you should be fine as long as you keep your comp on so the site is up and running. Might as well run it on your own machine if you can instead of paying for hosting.

Thanks for the input. Just wanted to make sure there were no major obstacles.
Might be a little easier since the reports will all reside on the same server, so no need to ftp them back and forth. |

Yeah, should cut down some of the work for you. I wish I could run my own server, damn the man.

Just make sure you have all the security software installed. You dont want someone hacking your computer/site.

Make sure your ISP allows running a server on your machine as part of their terms of service. Many ISPs specifically disallow any servers running on their network as outlined in their TOS.
