I am new to OOTP, 15 is my first go round, I have played baseball sim games in the past, including BBM 2010 most recently. I think the management system in OTTP is great, best I have seen, which is the reason I picked it up. However, the graphical showing of the game is below average. In other games you can see the flight of the ball in the 2d world and get a sense of how hard and far it was hit. Heck, microleague baseball had it back in the 80s. I think the 3d, once they work out the kinks, will be fantastic, but I see no reason why the ball path in the other modes is not more dynamic. Even in game casts on the web for years have had a 3d ball flight while the rest of the presentation is similar to what we see in OOTP.

Other Games are good for Live Play by Play but they are came on CD or DVD Rom. Also if could hook up with like ESPN or so on would be good. Game is good but missing like Minor League Evaluation Nd so on.

The addition of licensing would not be worth what would be lost. I agree with the pushback against that suggestion.
I'm neutral on the 3D in-game experience. I'm sure I'd enjoy it, but I'm sure I'd rather the roster and management-related issues, bugs, and/or features be addressed instead, and there IS a tradeoff involved at some point in development, even if the main coders are different people. As for the Power Rankings, well...two teams started 11-0. My Red Sox also have a 172.3 rating on May 31st, but the number in the screenshot is my personal high water mark. |

Look, if you want a baseball game with great graphics then you should go pick up a copy of MLB The Show 14. If you start a franchise and run the games in manager mode with quick counts on, you get one hell of a game, and perfect graphics.
It's a great game.

Which is why in every written text that has ever been assembled and complied there has never, ever, in all of human history, been multiple interpretations of the same text. Ever.

While I may not have used the same adjectives (ie asshat lol) I do think that people should be allowed to speak their mind without the PC police reprimanding them. Not everyone has the same way of expressing their thoughts through words. Their may have been some frustration on the OP part to with how he viewed the game. We are all entitled to have our own expectations and desires for the game and as long as we make a concerted effort not to be trolls, fanboys or chronic complainers, we should all be given the respect to state those opinions whether others agree with them or not.
One of the things I like about this forum versus many others is that there isn't a lot of kiddy craziness. However, when established members decide to troll someone because they didn't like their "tone" and draw attention to that and away from the actual intent behind the post it does allow these forums to occasionally deviate towards those other kinds of boards. We shouldn't be afraid to speak our mind constructively and with passion for the product for fear that some forum do gooders will berate us because we choose to articulate our thoughts differently than they. Its just not good for the site or the game we have so much passion for.

A guy who gives us his background, explains his point of view, takes screenshots to back up his opinions and writes a post that obviously took a fair amount of time to write deserves to have his post read and respected.
I find that written messages can be interpreted in all sorts of different ways, some of which are influenced by my own mood and state of mind at the time, which is why I try not to react to anyone's message too quickly, even if I agree with it. Everyone who posts here expresses his points of view, and some ask Markus to do things, to NOT do things, to tweak and change things...and not everyone wants Markus to do some of these things, and not everyone agrees that Markus should do these things, but ultimately, Markus seems to be a pretty good judge of what he needs to do to keep OOTP moving forward, and it's fair to say, after 15 iterations, we can trust him. I would not suggest for a second what tone the OP was trying to get across - it doesn't matter to me if he was trying to be condescending, informative, whatever. Who cares? What he wrote, what he suggests, and how he feels about the game is all that matters as it is written, and if nobody can do that without having his intentions and motives guessed at and tossed about like he isn't even in the room, and subjected to interpretation by people who couldn't have any idea WHAT his tone was meant to be, we won't have a forum, we'll have a flame room, and nobody will show up. As a last point - when trolls and other vermin come in to spew condescending, mean and juvenile bilge just to inflame the masses, don't they make it a little more blatantly obvious?

Some honest and open ones do, because that's their nature. But trolls and vermin also come in many other flavors, like deceptive, subtle and cryptic. Not everyone who appears to be condescending is a troll; not everyone who appears to be reasonable on the surface is not one.

I play for the simulation. I do not care a bit about 3d or audio. So I am happy as a clam with the way it works now. My biggest draw is adding new rules to fully simulate all the foreign leagues.

Apparently you're not smart enough to understand that I was being sarcastic about your sarcasm. Such a simple mind.

Actually he really is smarter than that. You might consider that there might be a third level of sarcasm going on that you may have overlooked.
