Lag/Speed of game - Page 2

I'm not having trouble with the game being laggy for most things, but I have to agree with some others here, the free agent and draft screens are painfully slow. Waiting through the lag every time you click "back" while looking at a player I'm thinking about drafting is annoying to the point that sometimes I just give up and say "Okay, fine, I'll take this guy" instead of continuing to do research.

I think the free agent and draft screens were definitely better off before the OOTP 14 update that switched them from page-based to list-based, or however you wanna phrase it. The lists are better, but if they can't be done without the lag, then I think they're not worth it.

Anybody have any tips on updating video drivers. I'm not the most computer literate one here for sure. I went to the control panel and had my computer do an automatic update. It downloaded something and my computer restarted but it still says my driver is from 2010.

By the way, I turned off facegen and the game worked much faster, but as soon as I started simulating a day, it started having lag again.

And I would be fairly sad if I have to do away with facegen.

when i tried to setup my expansion team expos today it took me 3-4 hrs in ootp 15 of which it usually only takes me 1.5-2 tops to set up all 6 teams mlb and all of their farm teams and do the draft... todfay i setup it all up in 15 it took me 3-4 hrs and i havnt even done the draft yet... im gonna try to unlicense it and install it on another pc i have and see what happens and if not ill have to wait until it is fixed i guess and then just go back to playing 14 unless its just slow with xp in general and i need something like vista or 7 installed... yes i did disable facegen and 3d

I've had the same experience. Simming days is good and fast, but man does it take forever to load free agent or draft lists.

I know in OOTP 14 it got slow too but seemed to get slower the more history in the league. I have ZERO history in this league in OOTP 15. I ahve no problem with the report taking some time to generate, but it shouldn't regenerate when I go back to the report on the same day, as nothing will have changed.

Getting this exact report is the single most time consuming thing in OOTP 15 so far; Free Agency and the Draft to a lesser extent. Other than that, absolutely no complaints! (Going to try the no facegen and 3D as well; I very rarely play games so I see don't need facegen.)

I got my work computer to run OOTP 15 better by turning off some features, but there is no new driver for the video card, so it is what it is.

On my laptop at home, I was able to update and optimize my video card and now OOTP 15 is lightening quick!

Wow so i didnt even think mine was that bad but I updated the driver and the game is now really fast. Definitely seems faster than 14 although that might be out of date driver also.

I was having terrible lag simming and just about everything compared to previous editions. I turned off face gen and 3d and it helped a little. I started a new game this monday but limited the international leagues to just Japan and Mexico. It is running super nice now. I think the bog down was in the international leagues.

I have an MLB setup with full minors, A feeder league system consisting of approx 400 teams plus 4 independent leagues. 3D disabled, facegen disabled. I am currently simming the 3rd week of March which is MLB spring training. Indy leagues and feeder leagues are currently in offseason.

I am averaging about 9 minutes to complete a 1 week sim.

Specs - Windows 7 64 bit Laptop
Intel Core i5-2520m with 4GB of ram.

My game is freezing in all drop down menus and when i right click a player. It will allow me to scroll with mouse but not click anything. SOmetimes it resolves quickly on its own, other times i have to force quit and lose all my data. Any one have any clue?

I suggest a free program from iobit.com called Driver Booster. It checks all your drivers to make sure they're up to date, and you can download and install updated drivers with the program. Up to date drivers are very important for hardware performance. This is a general suggestion for anyone experiencing a slow, laggy game.

holy crap! thanks for this! I had 17 (!) drivers out of date!!! EVERYTHING is working way better on my computer now, and all lag issues I had with OOTP15 (which only really occurred if 3D was on) are completely gone. I honestly can't thank you enough!

I'm also finding 15 to run faster than 14 so far. Same Windows 8 computer for both, and 15's just got a smoother feel.

You're welcome. Glad it worked so well for you. 17 drivers?!!! Whoa! You must feel like you've gone from a Pinto to a Porsche. Keep checking in with the program every week or so, and things should stay in tip top shape.

i find this to be the norm with most free software these days. awareness is key! pay attention when you install anything!

My game takes ~3 minutes+ to sim one day. I have all the foreign leagues enabled.
I'm gonna do a full uninstall/restart/reinstall because that's gotta be something wrong with my installation, right?
