OOTP 15 Dynasty?
I'm going to be starting a long term dynasty tomorrow when the patch comes out, but I wanted to know which team I should use from the MLB quick start?
I love a rebuilding challenge and I'm someone who is very cost effective. I think the Phillies, Mets, Blue Jays, or Padres would all be good team to work with. They're all in the middle of the pack and could go either way right now. I don't like doing the Astros or Cubs anymore, simply because they already have a rebuild plan in place. Both are stacked on prospects and will be winning in the next few years. Same goes for the Marlins and Twins. I also prefer a team that has a SS-A ball affiliate, along with the standard AZL/GCL team. That would then cross the White Sox off my list since they have no SS-A team and only have a R+ team. This is the list I've come up with, please use the poll above to vote on which team I should use for the OOTP 15 Dynasty: Seattle Mariners Toronto Blue Jays Philadelphia Phillies New York Mets Arizona Diamondbacks San Diego Padres Colorado Rockies Last edited by stevens84; 04-20-2014 at 11:07 PM. |

I still think, for a challenge, you should go with the Houston Astros, the newest and worst team in the AL in 2013. Of course they have a rebuilding plan in place. Can you make it work?

I could have them contending in 2016, easily. |

Astros and Cubs are boring now. Try sorting out that mess in Philadelphia.

The Blue Jays would be interesting.... especially being in the AL East...

They're similar to the Padres in my opinion…just a franchise that has gotten stale over the years and has a tough time escaping mediocracy. They have some long contracts, so my only problem would be managing a team from Canada...

You know the Mets are bad when they're one of two teams to not have a winning season in the last five years. Wanna guess the other team?…
The Houston Astros. Yeah…the Mets are bad, trying to be good, results in below average results and mid range draft picks…not a good recipe for winning |

I think San Diego because they don't really have any stars or a great farm system. They do have a few nice players to work with though. That would be my choice but you gotta take whoever is going to keep you interested the longest.

Just like Crusader Kings II...It's easy to build a great dynasty. It's all about role-playing a character (win or lose) and dealing with the aftermath.

I've used San Diego since OOTP 11 for each of my Dynasties. I just like how I can easily rip it apart and tank, then rebuild from there. That might be a little tougher though, since they have some bigger contracts now in Street, Quentin, etc.
