OOTP5 Stadium images request
Looking for a link or file to download to replace the default stadium names & image with the 2003 ballparks. Tried one or two from other posts, but the ballpark image does not appear in the background when playing a game, nor when editing a team.
Thanks |

you have to put the .dat files with the parks into your league, or check the parks out by going to "edit pallbark", and make sure the in game picture matches up with the folder you put the parks into in the game.

Did that....evidently what I copied was not working correctly, so just trying to find a reliable source.

Just go into each ballbark settings screen and manually change the park and image name. Afterwards, go to each team setup screen and make sure that the correct ballparks are set for each team. Should only take about a half hour to do the entire league.

That's what I tried doing...in particular, I downloaded parks & .dat files from http://newrepublic.silvergriffin.com/ootpreal.html
I have a league I created called MLB2002. When I go to the League Setup screen & choos Edit a Ballpark, I select Yankee Stadium. I set both the Picture selection & in-game game selection to r\yankee.bmp (this is where the .bmps are stored). My park & parkconfig.dat files are in my MLB2002 league directory. After editing Yankee stadium, I go to edit the Yankee team. When I select Team setup, where the ballpark picture should be, it is blank. I do set their home ball park to Yankee Stadium. If I try playing an exhibition game in Yankee stadium, the background is not Yankee Stadium neither. |

Maybe a dumb question but did you actually right click each image and save it as (Name).bmp in the Graphics\r directory? You have to do that to each stadium. You can't just download the .dat files and be ready to go.

Just to add to that thought, the DAT files do not contain the actual ballpark images but rather just the data for each ballpark. The images need to be saved in the Graphics folder located inside the OOTP5 directory.

Yes...right clicked & downloaded the ballparks & played them in the OOTP5\graphics\r folder as instructed on the webpage.
What may be the problem is that if you try to view the .bmps say thru IE or something, they can not be viewed. Almost as if they are not valid files. Thus my search for some legit 2003 ballpark images. |

I use IE and also use the ballpark images from that site and they work fine. I don't know what else to tell you.

Also, are you positive that you are saving the files as .bmp?

Can you post a screen shot of a ballpark editor page as well as one of a team setup page?
Maybe then we can find the problem for you. |

Sorry, don't know how to post the screen shot here. I have copied them to a word doc, but don't have attachment authority here. If you send me an email at mc048910@aol.com, I'll send the word doc with the screen shots to take a look at.
Thanks |

After doing some research, I've found out that I am indeed doing everything right. Only Olympic & Skydome work from that website, and are even visible as bmp files outside of OOTP. There must be something wrong with all the other photos.
If anyone knows of a website with the current ballpark field layout photos, it would be appreciated. |

Ballbark images
For what it's worth, I downloaded the images and dat. file from that site and found that the park configs are all out of whack.

What do you mean "all out of whack?"
