[B]How do you know a prospect needs to get put on a 40 man for Rule 5

I've only done historical replays, so it is my first time doing the Rule 5 draft.

I lost a coupla good prospects, but didn't lose others, so there is obviously (?) a time limit (as in real life) when you have to protect someone.

Does anyone know how I find that in the game? I can't protect every single prospect.

Thx

Look at the Rule 5 draft roster rules and eligibility rules in this section of the OOTP 14 manual.

Rule 5 eligibles are marked with the hash tag. Any you want to keep put onto the 40-man roster before the draft. It's not intended that you get to protect every prospect, the purpose of the rule 5 draft is to prevent hoarding of prospects. That way you have to make decisions on which prospects to trade or risk losing them.

Are you seeing lots of good prospects in the rule 5? I see very few and might lose one with little concern every 2-3 seasons.
