Ratings dropping when in a game?

Do ratings sometimes drop when you get in the game from what you see when you're setting up line ups? Example I had a player who has a 8 contact and when he was up to bat it was 1, and checked in the lineup it was 1. Then after the game in the roster screen it was back at 8? So is it possible for a person to be like sick that day and have a low contact ready?

Not really, as far as I know. I thought it might be a difference between OSA and your scout but I tested just now and found that your scouting choice remains consistent from roster to setting lineup to in-game and back. Maybe you were looking at the wrong thing, like vs. LHP/RHP instead of Overall?

I suspect that you're seeing the player's pitching ratings rather than his batting ratings on those screens. But I could be wrong.

Always make sure that you're viewing the right type of ratings.

They are showing on the play screen when he is batting. It's only this one player, I'll try to get a screen shot next time it happens.

I think Bru nailed the answer

If your 8 contact guy is facing a LH pitcher, maybe his contact is 1? Seems like a very skewed split, but hey...Ryan Howard
