Uneven Games

Can you make a schedule with uneven games? If you look at some of the old semi pro leagues they will have team A playing 100 games team B playing 98 and some even playing only 34 if they disbanded, is it possible in OOTP to do the same? Or will the game crash at the end of the season, just wondering if somebody had tried it.

You'd have to make the schedule yourself, either via an xml file or the in-game schedule editor, but it will work.

Much appreciated, I suppose I could of tried with a small test league but I know most ideas have already been tried or thought through by the community. I know I've said it before but the help given and offered by the OOTP community is second to none imo.

Thanks, I can do short schedules, what I was thinking of doing with say a 100 game schedule was having the game do it then delete a few games which should work.

I have a league going with current teams, and I disabled interleague play. Everything else is the same, 162 game season, etc.

For some reason the schedule keeps generating some teams with 150 games and others with 153. Any ideas on this?

Since you're using a modern MLB setup, there's an odd number of teams in each subleague. That kind of league setup REQUIRES Interleague play, or else there'd be two teams with a bye for every series (one team from each subleague is leftover after every other team pairs up, and they can't play each other because interleague is disabled). OOTP does not know how to handle this, so you're getting some wacky scheduling.

Now, if you happen to want a schedule where each team has a bye every 15th series, you're going to need to find a custom schedule to import, since OOTP cannot generate that complicated of a schedule on its own. It's possible someone's made something like it already, but I do not know for sure. You can check out the mods forum if you want. If not, your only choices are to either leave interleague play on, or even out the subleagues (by going back to 16/14 or expanding to 16/16, your choice).

Thanks so much. Interleague play it is then.
