Coaches ratings drop like a rock

I created a fictional league. I let the computer draft the team and choose the scouting and coaching staff. My bench coach had a rating of "excellent" in every "teach" category and "legendary" in every "handle". My HC had 2 years remaining on his contract, and my bench coach had 1 year left. So I resigned him to a 4 year extension, at 420,000K per year, figuring he would take over as HC after the 2nd year. I played through my first year in the league. I decided to look at the other coaches contract status and see where I could make improvements. Now my bench coach is rated "average" in EVERY category. WTF?? Can coaches ratings change that drastically in one year? I didn't think they would change much until they got a lot older to be honest. But he is only 37. I thought those ratings were kind of high for a coach his age, but I just figured I got very lucky. My managers ratings also says all "average". He is 37 also. His ratings were higher also, but nowhere near as drastic as the bench coach. Help!

I haven't been playing very long and have never had the coaching system actually enabled, but one thing came to mind after reading this.

In the global setup setting did you possibly uncheck "Use Complete Coaching System"?? That will change the ratings to average, not sure if it's effecting all personnel...but it's just what popped into my head.

Sorry if I wasted your time, but I'm not that experienced with the coaching system, but just wanted to chime in.

Thanks for the help, but it only affected my manager and bench coach. the HC, PC & trainer are the same ratings as last year.
