Best Ballgames Ever
Hey guys,
As a German, who didn't raise up with baseball like (i guess) many of US-Americans here, it's difficult to figure out which ball games i should watch and... which not. As it sometimes gets boring to look some lazy low-scoring games, i just wanted to know, which games in MLB-history i should sometime definitely take a look on. It would be nice to recommend some games without spoilers! ![]() Greetings antBruss ![]() |

1991 World Series Game 7!
EDIT: Screw it, watch the whole 1991 series. Game 6 is a classic too. |

My picks are either Game 7 2001 World Series or Game 7 1997 World Series.

Or you could just watch the documentary by Ken Burns called Baseball. Around 30 hours on the history of baseball.
Lots of great games have been mentioned already. Maybe Game 6 of the 86' World Series. Last edited by jbergey22; 03-03-2014 at 08:34 PM. |

1978 American League East tie-breaker game between the Yankees & Sox....the so-called "Bucky Dent" game. It's the product at its absolutely best. The game had drama, tension, and comeback heroics (and heartbreak, if you're a Red Sox fan) on a legendary scale. It's the kind of high-pressure/drama game that Hollywood (both before & after) has often tried to recreate in baseball movies but has never quite been able to.

Wow, guys,
thanks a lot for your suggestions. ![]() I am definitely going to take a look at some (or all) of the games. Of course you can continue to suggest some more high class material ![]() |

2011 World Series, Game 6. Can't beat that one for drama, even if you're not a Cardinal fan like I am.

Best one to start with. Even though you dont like low scoring games check out Game 4 of the 2005 World Series. Mark Buehrle July 23 2009. Someone else mentioned the 2001 World series that is possibly my 3rd favorite World series. Red Sox vs Yankees ALCS 2004. Game 6 NLCS Cubs vs Marlins 2003. You only need to watch game 6. Cal Ripken September 6th 1995.

Really, every game in 2005 was a good one. Game 1 was probably the least exciting and Game 2 was probably the most dramatic.

Game 6 of the 1986 World Series along with games 3 and 6 of the 1986 NLCS spring to mind.
