I wonder what Markus can have against you...

From the AP, 09/09/11:

"SAN FRANCISCO -- Jeremy Affeldt had just come in from swimming with his kids on Thursday when he pulled out some frozen burgers to start preparing lunch.

The pitcher then sustained a deep cut in his right hand while using a knife to separate the patties, an injury that has ended his season early. He said he came within a milimeter of an artery, and two friends with him were emergency medical technicians who quickly applied pressure to the wound and bandaged him up before going to the hospital."

this happened IRL, not OOTP

Hey, I pinched a nerve in my shoulder this morning PLAYING OOTP.

Yeah, I really did nothing. It was like one of those times you sneeze and pull a muscle, only I didn't sneeze.

The doctor told me it was probably just ready to pinch and I turned the slightest little bit, and yeahhhhhhhh. FML.

Hmm, seems a trend developing here with knife-related-food-preparation injuries. I hope 15 will model this accurately...

Seriously though, MLB players occasionally do really stupid things. I seem to recall Bobby Ojeda injuring himself with hedge-clippers back in the day. And didn't Joba Chamberlain injure himself playing on a trampoline with his kids? I like the occasional (emphasis on occasional) oddball injuries that OOTP throws your way. Although I agree they should be exceedingly rare come playoff time.
