Changing Database During a Dynasty

I started a new dynasty this weekend using randomly drawn players from any era to start and in future drafts. I like the league setup and want to keep it, but decided I'd like to change my database after the initial startup and draft. Will the game be able to track which players were already used in the startup even after implementing a different database or do I need to start all over if I want to use that new database?
