Newcomer - queries

Hi everyone, just found this great game last night, purchased immediately more so on the strong reviews of OOTP than the Average reviews that FHM is getting.

As i believe with more people playing this will improve to match OOTP in future years, and i prefer ice hockey to baseball anyway. (I guess having a local team helps).

When i downloaded the game would the most recent patches have been included or do i need to download those also?

I started a game with the Belfast Giants in the EIHL as they are my local team and have been at a few games this season
(i used to go regularly a few years back, when Theo Fleurry was the star attraction).

I noticed at home games i am drawing an attendance of 1800 to 2200, which is probably about right for most games if a little low. However i haven`t seen a crowd above 10 at any away games, is this a known problem?
(Saying that i haven`t played the Sheffield or Nottingham yet).

My other issue, this might be me doing something wrong, i am able to sign british free agents without a problem, but when i offer a contract to a foreign based player, have the offer accepted, i can not click submit offer?
It seems to be greyed out?

Yeah the attendance thing is a long-standing bug since the summer. Belfast should be seeing attendances in the region of 4,000 at the Odyssey.

How many imports do you have on your roster already? The roster limit is set incorrectly in FHM. It has been set the same as the import dressed limit (whereas in reality there is no limit on the number of imports on the roster and indeed it is common for many EIHL teams to have a few more imports on their rosters than they're allowed to dress). The reason for this is that there is a bug with the AI whereby if there is no roster limit on the number of imports then they go nuts and fill the roster almost entirely with imports...

4,000 sounds about right for any games i have been at recently, i believe capacity is around 6,000, which we had twice last week for the celebrations.
It`s the away games that puzzle me, even at Sheffield and Nottingham, i haven`t seen anything higher than 100.

I have either 11 or 12 imports on the roster, i believe 11 is the dressed restriction?

Normally it would have stopped me offering contract if that was the case?
I released 1 player and it allowed me to offer contract but not submit.

I now can`t even offer a contract extension to my existing players

How to change from windowed mode to fullscreen?

currency can't be changed from $ at this time.

when you start the game, go to preferences to change to full screen

The Giants have had a phenomenal season this season. Congratulations on winning the league and managing to do it so early into the season.

To be honest, I had been of the impression that all games were suffering from the attendance bug. So I'm surprised at the attendances you've been getting in game at home. Nonetheless, it's still not right because it should be much higher than the ~2,000 you've been seeing in game.

Come to think of it, I remember seeing that the trade rules had been changed in the DB. I asked Jeff to fix this (which he has now) and so I suppose this will be reflected in the next patch. So you might want to wait until the patch which is scheduled to come out next Wednesday.

I have to admit I have done very little testing of the UK in game since October. I spend my available time keeping the DB up to date and I'm waiting for the game features to be more developed. Unfortunately at this stage there are still a lot of things lacking or not working in the UK in game (and the Euro leagues generally, as I understand it). Feel free to drop me a PM with any comments/suggestions about your experiences playing in the UK in the game. Once the upcoming patch has come out I intend testing the UK in game again and listing all of the things not working or missing.

Thanks guys, so had some injury problems and finished conference 2nd and league 3rd (also did some tactical tweaking as i was leaking a lot of goals)

Attendance all round picked up in second half of season, now into second season, every team in the league is getting 100% attendance at every game.

Other minor bugs spotted, during game play, commentary introducing teams occasionally shows a number instead of team name, or nothing at all, some times rink name is a number

Enjoying the game, reminds me of an older football (soccer) management game i played

Also on a side note - i noticed a popular belfast bar was to show the game against coventry, have never heard of that happening before, hopefully this season is going to give attendances a bit of a resurgence, back to the higher numbers from the first few seasons.
