Help Setting Up My League
So I am looking to start a new game in OOTP 14 and wanted to make sure I did it right before starting. My idea is to start a game the year that the Mariners drafted Ken Griffey Jr and relive his career. I also wanted to do random debut as well but only players that were drafted from my start season on. Is that a possibility? I wouldn't want to see historical players coming back into the league.

You could start the MLB 1989 season but put a hold on it to the 1990 season and then start a fictional league for 1989 (w/random draft) and cherry pick the MLB players into your fictional league.

You could also create draft classes using only players from the years you want to import. Simply make a text file with the players IDs followed by the years of their careers you want to import. To find the ID, search the player on baseball-reference.com and the last part before the ".shtml" in the address bar is the playerID. A sample text file would be this:
mantlmi01,1961 mayswi01,1955 musiast01,1949 Once you've made the file, make sure you're in commish mode and go to the free agent screen. Click "Import Historical Player", and select the Master.csv which should come up. Then, go to the next screen and click "Select File". Navigate to where your file is and select it. |

Wow seems complicated but I may have to look into doing something like that.

Should be able to do it with a simple copy and paste.

Someone made a spreadsheet that helps with this process and posted it on the forums somewhere recently but I can't find it on here. I'll see if I can find it on my laptop and re-post it here.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to check it out and try to figure out how to use it.
