Overachiever of the year?

This pitcher's record is 2-0, even though . . .

He only appeared in one game, faced only one batter, and walked him.

Not too shabby an ERA+, either. As you can see, he overachieved last year, too (when he was rated 20/38).

How could this happen? I'll report the bug in my next post. (iOOTP13)

The 2-0 in only 1 appearance is definitely weird, unless he came into the game with a runner on 1st and two outs, and got a pick off and never ended up throwing a pitch.

His first season his BABIP was .220 and not a lot of strikeouts, he was getting very lucky. Not a guy I would have in my bullpen, lol

The explanation for the 2-0 record has partly to do with the fact that the same game (our 2nd of the season) managed to get played twice.

In the first game, Scott Allen came in and walked the only batter he faced. I brought in a new pitcher, and finished the game. I was astonished at Allen's being credited for the win -- he entered the game after his team scored the winning run and pitched poorly, but maybe MLB's win definition was properly applied (I don't know arcane baseball matters).

I screenshot the box score, checked the standings, etc., scratched my head, closed the game, and returned to real life.

When I next opened iOOTP, I was taken to that same game, at the point at which I replaced Allen. I was startled. I subbed again (a different replacement pitcher) and finished the game.

Scott Allen got credited with two wins.

That's the short version. I plan to post a bug thread with more details.

It would be nice if this bug could be nailed down and fixed in whatever the next version is.
