Questions about modifying historical_database
I'm thinking of trying to get around the problem of player age import in non-draft historical leagues (all players import as being one year too old) by modifying every entry in the historical database to move each player's year of birth forward by one year so that when the game imports them, the player's year of birth will be historically correct. I'm aware that this involves the modification of more than 15,000 players, but given that it's changing only a single value it seems like a doable project (if extremely repetitive).
As this would be my first time working with a database, I have a few questions as to how to go about modifying one. Firstly, is this even possible to do (that is, make changes to the historical_database.odb file)? Secondly, if this is possible to do, what's the best program to use for displaying and modifying the information in a .odb file? |

ODB files are not modifyable by nothing. They are an OOTP proprietary format. Simply a squished version of all the csv files in the stats folder, which are modifiable.

So if I did want to modify player birthdates, I'd have to go through and modify master.csv (I think?), then delete the historical database from the stats folder and run the game through master.csv? Or something like that?
