whats your favorite baseball podcast? here's a few of mine:

Stealing Home- talks about all things related to baseball past, present and future. From bullpen culture to the coming and going of the Seattle Pilots, this pod will discuss anything related to the great game of baseball. They even had an espisode dedicated to baseball video games, and OOTP was featured and talked about longer than any of the other games. This is probably my favorite pod because you can listen to an episode from any date and it will still capitivate you

Fangraphs- very stats driven. lots of good info

Baseball Tonight w/ Buster Olney- Say what you will about ESPN, but how can anyone not like Buster? This is a 45-60min daily pod during the season. I think it gets in full swing around Spring Training. This pod covers all the major news and notes of the day in MLB. He also usually has a 10-20min interview with whoever he can get ahold of (often Tim Kurkjian).

Baseball America- Covers everything related to prospects. A TON of NCAA talk

The Minor League Report- hosted by a handful of PR guys and broadcasters from varius minor league teams. This pod goes deep into MiLB and offers a great insider perspective.

Behind the Dish w/ Keith Law- I'm not a huge Law fan, but his pod is decent. Mostly interviews with writers and front office types

Effectively Wild: The Daily BP Podcast- A daily pod with Sam Miller and Ben Lindbergh from Baseball Prospectus. They cover a variety of topics around baseball.

I'm hoping to discover some more so if any of you have any recommendations, post them here...Thanks

Yeah, I listen to Effectively Wild pretty regularly.

It's definitely not for most people, so I hesitate to recommend it, but I'm a fan of Productive Outs, as well. It's just as much about music (and esoteric music most people wouldn't like) as it is about baseball, and it's fairly silly and unserious. But I happen to like it.

Thanks for recommending that Stealing Home. I'm really enjoying the archive. And unlike most other sports podcasts, it's really about the history or at least general topics that are timeless. No "what did you think of what happened this past week" or "make a prediction for the next thing to happen." It almost has a public radio, Radiolab-ish vibe to the production and presentation.

Also, listening to this month's Effectively Wild (which is very time sensitive) really makes me want to try picking a random MLB team on OOTP and give it a try. I mean, I *always* play as either "my team", the team I've rooted for my whole life, or the local Major League team whose market I currently live in. I have emotional ties to those teams, so managing them appeals to me. But hearing about "the state of the team", the direction all these different MLB teams are going makes me want to see if I can try my hand at something new and different....a White Sox, a Twins, a Pirates, a Cubs....teams that have never been in my orbit of interest before....
