Ballpark Ratings in Fictional Leagues

here is a question for all of you who run fictional leagues.... how much time/attention do you give to the ballparks in your fictional leagues?

do you plan out and specifically assign ratings to each team's ballpark?

I am excited to put some of the great fictional park images I have found here and on OOTPmods.com...

Just wondering what else to do with them in terms of developing ratings, seating capacity, etc?

In the past, I haven't paid any attention to ballpark factors. They all even out in the end - literally. I've been rethinking that attitude, though. As someone who plays fictional, I'd be interested in seeing what you do with your ballparks.

For my Endor league and my ABF league I use real parks. Mostly since I play out my games I want the factors, dimenisons & attendance to match the image. I change the names of the parks. Gambo has a great .prk file on ootpmods.com. 2nd file down.
Ballparks | OOTPMODS.COM

Pstricket has a really great .PRK file that covers each year 1901-2013. I use this when I want to change factors. Example for the 2019 -2025 Delgado Lions i have them in Comerica the 1st year it wa built when it was hard to hit HR there. in 2026 I would select the 1st year that they brought the fences in. For 2036 i will choose 2013 or what ever is the latest .PRK file. Pstricket's file is on the boards. Just do an advanced search for posts started by him.
Here are a few parks that I use in my EBL league. Many of these have been modified by JRP, Kev24 Fan, Marberi & txranger for me.
Mon Mothma Park - Old Comiskey 1988
Jedi Park - New Comiskey 1991
Glenbard Coliseum - LA Coliseum 1959
Batcave - Yankee Stadium II? 1990
Hostess Stadium - Olympic Stade 1995

Same here. I only have one fictional league, but it's the league I enjoy the most because each season, I take the top five players in the draft pool and rename them to be friends of mine, which greatly increased my interest in the league. But I didn't pay one bit of attention to the ballparks when I created the league and now I'm wondering if maybe I should have.

I usually randomize the factors of each park, and then only mess with them to "fix" any extreme outliers. Even when I play with real parks, though, I don't pay much attention to it, though sometimes I feel like I should.

I do that with parks for league I do not play like TBL & CBF

Do you guys build your teams around your parks?

In leagues where I use Wrigley. I do not pursue left handed power hitters as no lefty has hit more then 30 HR in Wrigley in over 30 years. I also go after high GB % pitchers because when they wind is blowing out even that can make Greg Maddux look like a schlub.
In Old Comiskey I focus on pitchers, speed and defense. Sherm Lollar was the 1st batter to hit 20 HR in OC in 1959. The Southside Hitmen/rent-a-players of the late 70's they had moved the fences in a lot.

my new idea

thanks for the input so far. here is a different idea I had in terms of league setup for fictionals....

I used to develop the league setup (divisions, teams, etc...) then name the teams, modify the league settings, and then add uniforms, logos and ballparks...

for some reason, it never felt right for me.

So now, I am going to start by selecting a ballpark and develop the settings for the stadium... then I will place it in a city and develop a franchise around it. I am hoping that doing it this way, I get a little more attached to each franchise as they each develop their own personality... just a thought

I have an excel spreadsheey that calulates ootp park factors. I have had it forever and have made some personal mods to it. I takes dimensions, wall height, altitude, type of stadium, type of fields, foul ground size, sea level altitude, ball carry down lines and cf, condition of the field (well maintained, bumpy, rocky, etc) and a custom adjustment (upward sloping OF warning travel, crazy angled OF walls, brick/rock OF walls, etc)
