Moving data path

After successfully buying and installing OOTP14, I need to change the path where OOTP looks for it's files. Instead of it storing them on my hard drive, I would rather they be stored on my external drive on which I have way more space. Whenever I change the Custom User Path setting, quit the game, move the files and restart the game, the game always regenerates those files in the old folder. Also, the same demo window opens up and I have to put my key in again. Any advice? Thanks.

I figured it out. You had to move the files before changing the data path setting. I realized that you have to keep the default files in the regular folder, however, but those only total up to around 600 MB. All of my saved games and stuff are where they're supposed to be.
