New Roster File, just finished
Hey guys, I just got done creating a new roster file. It took me almost 3 months of working at it a couple hours a day each day.
www.mbl2.com Here are some highlights of Rocco's Rosters: Every Player's Correct Contract Opening Day Rosters 240 Amateurs for the draft School name instead of place of birth and so much more

Good file...
Great file, I just downloaded it and have looked around. Very good ratings, lots of amateurs, in depth financial system (contract value and length seemed to have been fixed). Very good roster set overall. Give it a look.

Very nice.
Just curious as to how you do your ratings. I usually get mine from the three year splits found on ESPN.com

Thanks
Yeah, i use 3 year splits based on a couple of different factors. Potontial, Scouting reports, 2003 stats, and other sources. Glad you like it. If you want to test the accuracy of the ratings, turn coaches/scouts off and take a look at them.

No, i backed it up and put it on different computers just in case something like that happened. I'm really sorry to hear what happened to yours. Check mine out and tell me what you think.

grismosw,
Just a couple things off the top of my head: (1) Last school attended instead of home town. This was the first thing I noticed. It's a great added touch, I think. (2) In TotalMinors, when viewing rosters, some minor league position players wouldn't show up under their position, but instead under starting or relief pitchers. They would also pitch in the minor leagues. Don't know if you've noticed this or not, but it's not prevelent in this set. (3) I have had access to this set for a week, or so, as we use it in the MBL:Reloaded, and the ratings look very, very good for minor leaguers. There are some different minor leaguers and they begin at their correct level as of opening day. If I think of some other differences, I'll post them later. This is in no way a knock on TotalMinors, as I've used them every year he's done them, incuding for High Heat. I appreciate GForce's work very much, as well as Rocco's. |

I have nothing bad to say about TotalMinors rosters, but here are some differences:
1-Updated ratings to reflect 2003 season as well as potential and past statistics 2-TM's rosters only had correct contracts for the bigger players, I have done it for every single major leaguer 3-Correct opening day rosters, TM's minors werent openign day rosters 4-240 real Amatuers for the draft, TM only had 200 5-more player history files 6-PETCO and Citizens Bank Ballpark are included 7-and last but not least, my minor league ratings are very well done. If you turn off coaches and scouts, you will see how close the top 100 prospects is to any publications top 100

Awesome job on the rosters!!!! They seem to be the most accurate I have seen in a while. Total Minors is a very good set but this one has it beat. Not to knock TM at all, but this is the set I will be using when starting over my solo league

That's not that old for a relief pitcher, many relievers stay in the game well past their prime... Did one of them happen to be named Strom? Seriously though, is this going to be fixed? I was about to download the file but i'll wait if it's going to be updated again. Which pitchers are the ancient ones? Last edited by Orsalak; 07-10-2003 at 11:25 AM. |

I just uploaded the fixed file, but the one with the 4 older guys isnt really defective. They are amateurs that are available for the draft and will go undrafted and retire after 2003.
If you see any other errors like age discrepancies, please let me know. I want this to be as accurate as possible.

There are a few different face packs out there designed to work with the TM roster sets. Do they work with yours as well? Is there one in particular that matches your file the best are does it not really matter?

it really doesnt matter. I would just go with a facepack that has the most pictures, for the best chances of getting all the players.

Very well done rosters, in my opinion.... into my 3rd year using them. Just one funny thing though..... your Rocco won the Rookie of the Year..... sure you didn't give him a little 'extra'??

I am switching over to yours from TotalMinors. I think your ratings are more accurate, especially in the minors. It seems in TotalMinors any player who is the least bit of a prospect is a bit overrated. I also like the fact I no longer have 35 guys in A ball, down to a more manageable 18-20.
