You can select the skin colour there, but until the next patch or upgrade comes out next year it doesn't change the animation. Paulie says he's working on that right now.

For those on the iPad, I will be releasing an update as soon as Apple open its app store again. It seems there is a small "unwanted feature" in the fighter and rating records tables.... I added an allocation cache to improve speed but there was (a now fixed) issue in it. This is why newly created fighters wont select....

Another issue I'm having is when I select a judge for a fight, judge 1 and 2 end up being the same judge.

v1.2.6 is up for approval, once its released please check this again as I have changed the database caching code...

I'm waiting on Android, but I'd like to know something about the iPad version. Can you pause fights at the end of a round and return to them later? I intend to entertain myself with it on the commuter train, so the ability to stop and start is a must.

The Android version is in testing. There is one issue to resolve before its ready for release. It seems the data is not always automatically downloaded when the application is, so I need to build a download framework. Then it will be ready...

You can pause the game and return later as long as the device does not require more resources and quit the app. If it does, there is an autosave option that will return you to the last 'safe point' just before the fight started. If all you did was place the iPad on standby to get off the bus then is should still be in the background when you start again later allowing you to finish your fight.

The "safe point" then is before the fight started? If I turn off the device until the end of the work day and the return trip home, then in that case I have to start the fight over?

At the moment yes. As I am sure you can imagine there is a fair amount of temporary information stored about a fight. A lot of this is inside the fight engine itself which was designed to run on a PC where instant shutdown was not an option. In order to save a fight mid way through would require a fair amount of work to ensure all the internal variables are stored and restored correctly.

I will add this as a feature idea for the next release, but for now its a lot of work to change...

Another problem I've run in to. I've been just quickly simulating the fights to build up records. When I finally set it up to view the fights it freezes after the second or third fight. It allows me to watch the first fight or two, but then freezes on the fight screen for the next fight. I'm forced to close the program and when I go back in, the card is erased. The one good point, I guess, is that it saves the fights that u viewed already.

I am really enjoying the ipad version.

My only beef is that if i run three tournaments in a row, it always freezes.
The bad is that I have to close and restart the app, the good is that I haven't noticed any loss of data to the point of the freeze.

This annoys me too... I don't use any features that are not in iOS5! However Apple like everyone to upgrade, which does not help ipad1 users as they can't. As a result the Apple build tools on their website only support iOS7 so thats the lowest iOS version I can build for. I suspect there is also a min requirement for apps uploaded to the AppStore but as I can't build an older app I can't be sure.

Bottom line, this is not my choice, I think it sucks and I wish there was a way round it, but there is not...

I think this is a memory fragmentation issue. When it freezes how much memory is the app using?
How to Tell How Much Memory an Application Is Using in iOS

What device are you using? If you leave it does it come back after a long time?

Same exact thing happens to me if I want to watch an entire card. After two fights it freezes. I don't lose any data, but the rest of my fight card disappears. And I have to go back and reenter the rest of the card.

What kind of iPad do you have and how much free memory is there? On my iPad2 I can run 100 Scheduled fights without error.

Have you checked how many apps are running in the background and/or restarted your device recently?
