Firing of GM's in Online leagues?

I know in the manual it states that one cannot be fired as GM in an online league BUT, provided the league is willing and the commissioner of the league is willing to administer this manually when it happens, does anyone know if the GM-being-fired component can exist in an online environment?

Will the "you've been fired" message (in-season or end of season) still pop up for the manager (or be seen by the commissioner) in-game? At that point it could just be a matter of the commish making that happen manually before the next sim.

The "fired" GM can then "apply" (again manually via commish) for any existing open position or stay on the sidelines until year end to see if anything opens up.

I'm just interested in a way to possibly "up the stakes" in an online league and cause some GM movement between teams (provided of course all are willing to live with this stipulation) without having to manually create some "house rules" to replicate this. If the same in-game mechanism can be used...cool!

Considering most online leagues are replacing GM's on a fairly regular basis (from what I've seen). I'm not sure firing one is a very good option. If you wanted to do it though would probably be simpler to just set up a rule where if your team finishes "X" number of games below their preseason projection you are fired and the first person on the waiting list takes your spot. That would also be a lot more fair than using the actual game engine since your owners temperment has a large effect on whether the game fires you or not.

Snarf054 thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, I wasn't coming at this from a "weeding out GM's" standpoint as you are 1000% correct in that most leagues are always looking to recruit not unmercifully terminate!

I was approaching this more from simply trying to generate a little "movement" within the league by existing GM's and to make success a little more of a priority. That way, and I may be mistaken, anyone may have to test their skills with another organization every so often.

It's purely hypothetical at this point because step #1 would be to have GM's by into this and some certainly would never, ever want to give up "their team" - it may be the only reason they play in the league - and I get that. And YES I know the owner would play a huge role in this (as in a solo league) which just ups the randomness of the process.

I was just wondering if this could be done in-game before going down the route of creating a bunch of house rules.

Thanks again for the reply.
