Offensive interference

Just had this happen in a game and I think OOTP has it wrong. Runners on second and third and one out. Batter hits the ball toward shortstop. Runner going from second to third tries to avoid the ball, but the ball hits him. OOTP calls the runner out but allows the runner on third to score. I think, under the rules, the ball should have become dead when it hit the runner. The runner originally on third would have to return to third while the runner on second would be out with the batter going to first.
