Importing players from different games

I want to import a player from the current major league game to my other, fictional league game. If I use the import historical player, it gives him crazy bad ratings.

Here's what I figured I can do: Export rosters from both games. Copy and paste the player's line from the major league rosters to the free agent section of the fictional rosters.

Is this correct? Don't want to screw up my fictional league.

Just realized I could screenshot the major leaguer's ratings/bio info, create a new player in my fictional league, and edit all of his ratings and bio info.

Might go with this way instead.

The player you imported you said is a real 2013 MLer? Did you run a rescout on him when you imported him?

As far as bringing players over from another league you can save the league you want to bring him over from as a template and load that template into your league but if that league has players that are in your current league you will have tons of duplicates. I am still deleting players from the 2013 quickstart when I used that as a template so i could have full minor leaguers

I only got the bad ratings with a historical player import. Since it only goes up to 2012, it didn't work.

I didn't think of the template idea. Once I load the template, I can manually switch the players over to the other league. Thanks.

If the player was a 2013 rookie then yeah he is not in the database. If he played prior to that you could use career totals or Peak season vs remaining years.

Yes but it may duplicate players and you might have a ton of FA's and extra coaches. You could create a dummy league with 2 teams. Delete all players and history all coaches. Import your player into that league using the template. Delete all players teams coaches etc other then him. save again as a template them import him. BACK UP YOUR LEAGUE, so you can restore it if something goes awry.

Couldn't I just move the MLB players to from the MLB to my fictional league, and then delete the MLB?

If not I'll go with your way.

If your fictional league has real player in it it will dupe them but yes you can. I have 2 Hank Aarons, 2 Ty Cobb's etc, although i have deleted the ones from the 2013 QS since they wont have the historical tab. My league was started in 1999 with full history.

O.K. Thank you very much. My league has historical players from different eras mixed into it, but no currents.
