6 walks not enough for Twins against Yankees If you were to look at the starting pitching lines for this game, you'd have thought the score was reversed. Strange. Attendance since trading Morneau is way down... We've also put in a claim on LHP Tony Sipp, from Arizona. I'd like him to replace Hernandez in the bullpen so he can go back to AAA and start games. ----------------------------------------- Around MLB: Wright and Lindsey Traded: You can focus on the negatives after being traded to a new team -- finding a new place to stay, leaving teammates and friends, having to start anew -- but one player hopes to focus on the positives. "It means I'm wanted somewhere. At least one team sees potential in me." Those were the comments heard after the New York Mets came to an agreement to deal 30-year-old third baseman David Wright and $3,000,000 in cash to the Los Angeles Angels for 23-year-old minor league third baseman Michael Snyder, 21-year-old minor league second baseman Taylor Lindsey and 22-year-old minor league third baseman Michael Bolaski earlier today. The deal is expected to be formally announced later this evening. So far this season Wright is hitting .302 with 11 home runs. Miley and Cron Dealt: The Diamondbacks have reached a deal with Los Angeles, sending 26-year-old starting pitcher Wade Miley to the Angels in exchange for 23-year-old minor league first baseman C.J. Cron and 22-year-old minor league shortstop Pedro Toribio. Reports had been hinting at a deal in recent days, but weren't confirmed until this afternoon. In 18 starts this season Miley has rung up a 3-3 record and a 5.50 ERA. Last edited by Mike Lowe; 11-30-2013 at 09:56 AM. |

Yeah, I don't necessarily like it, but that's what Gardenhire has chosen.
He is, however, 6/7 in saves. |

Bullpen and unearned runs spoil nice start by Pelfrey Eduardo Escobar was hurt in a collision at home plate. Diagnosis pending. I think I'm holding off on the Ubaldo Jimenez extension talks right now as even though I'd like to resign him, I want to see him put together at least half a season of above-quality work. Since he was claimed earlier in the season, I have some more time. ----------------------------------------- Around MLB: |

Anyone know what setting must be changed to allow for things like player history to be kept? I keep seeing players with nothing written in their history :/
I have ALL set for news, injury, transaction logs. What gives? |

I notice too that each new day on the schedule, FaceGen redoes all of the images for people--like they were never there before. It just seems like nothing is saving... |

As far as the player pictures, go to Game > Setup & Options > Player & Picture Options, and see what your setting is for Update Player Pictures. I changed mine to "Every January 1," and I've noticed that the game regens player pictures much less often now (but still often, and I have no idea why). Also, if you're using the all in one mod with the photos, in the home page's Preferences screen, under the Facegen tab make sure Picture Search Mode says "Search for photo first." But aAgain, this doesn't always seem to be binding, and I don't have a clue why. |

A screenshot of the player's history? They're all just blank white.
Thanks for the info. I adjusted the preferences one, but don't like the Jan 1 option because of traded players, etc. |

I would say maybe a patch messed it up, but an online league I'm in is showing history just fine.

Twins blow game in 9th inning to Yankees Twins lead 4-0, trailed 5-4, and then went up 7-5, before giving up 3 in the 9th to lose. Doumit, Moreland, Parmelee, and McPherson had nice games. Duensing blew his second save...might be time to have an talk with Gardenhire over the All-Star break about our closer. Escobar is out about a month... ----------------------------------------- Around MLB: Nationals owner Lerner passes away, leaves team to son Padres' Gyorko to miss 5 weeks Toronto's Reyes out a week Last edited by Mike Lowe; 12-09-2013 at 06:05 PM. |

Yankees again get best of Twins late Jimenez pitched well until the 8th. All-Star teams were announced and Mauer makes the team, but Doumit does NOT. I'm surprised by that. No other Twins get the invite. ----------------------------------------- Around MLB: A day after the Nationals owner dies, Atlanta Braves owner John Malone has passed away and has left the team to his son, John Malone Jr. Yankees, Padres Agree to Trade: BNN is reporting a rumored trade between the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres has been finalized. The deal, which is expected to be announced sometime during the next few hours, will reportedly send 25-year-old starting pitcher Ivan Nova and $539,000 in cash to San Diego in return for 22-year-old minor league left fielder Jeremy Baltz and 20-year-old minor league starting pitcher Joe Ross. The clubs were noncommittal on the trade, but did not deny it. So far this year Nova has a 9-8 record with a 4.08 ERA. Indians also sent 28 year old MR Chris Perez to St. Louis for 19 year old minor league catcher Steve Bean and 20 year old minor league CF Charlie Tilson. |

Late innings again give Twins trouble This time it's Worley who can't make it out of the 8th (and perhaps shouldn't have been left in to begin with). In A ball, Miracle Buxton FLO Hitter of the Week: Byron Buxton is respected by most Fort Myers Miracle fans for his no-frills style of play. The 19-year-old center fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Florida State League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .433 average (13-30) with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 9 runs scored. This year Buxton is batting .355 with 3 home runs and 13 RBIs. ----------------------------------------- Around MLB: Brewers Kyle Lohse out 7-8 months Mets, Cubs Trade Players: New York and Chicago announced some roster changes today as the Mets acquired 36-year-old left fielder Alfonso Soriano and $3,000,000 in cash from the Cubs in exchange for 27-year-old third baseman Zach Lutz and 21-year-old minor league starting pitcher Domingo Tapia. Representatives from both teams say they are pleased with the deal. In his 2013 season totals, Lutz has 1 home run, .171 BA, .263 OBP, 7 RBIs and 7 runs scored. For the season Soriano is currently batting .217 with 5 home runs and 22 RBIs. In 54 games he has reached base at a .271 rate and scored 19 runs to date. |

Well, we're through the All-Star game, and will resume games tomorrow.
Here's the boxscore for the All-Star game which the NL won 2-0. A lot has been going on around the league this week. Here's a recap of some of the Twins' happenings: 15th round selection, OF Daniel Sweet, had a 5-hit game for our Gulf Coast rookie team. Ubaldo Jimenez has signed a 2 year contract extension. He'll make $2.9M in 2014, and $4.3M in 2015. I basically took off $1M for both years from what he originally was asking for. Took about 2 days to accept. We signed 20 year old minor leaguer OF Willy Garcia, who was cut by the Pirates 3 days prior. A lot league transactions to report too as we approach the trade deadline: 1) Orioles Swap Chen to Rays for Vettleson: Baltimore and Tampa Bay have swapped players. The Orioles announced today that they have sent 27-year-old starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen to the Rays in exchange for 21-year-old minor league right fielder Drew Vettleson. In his career Chen has amassed 12 wins and 13 losses with an ERA of 4.08 and 165 strikeouts. 2) Gomez, McCarthy Swap Teams: After a week of negotiations, the Brewers and Diamondbacks have come to terms on a deal that will send 27-year-old center fielder Carlos Gomez and 24-year-old minor league starting pitcher David Goforth to Arizona for 30-year-old starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy. For the year Gomez is batting .259 with 37 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 30 times and driven in 13. In pitching stats this season McCarthy has rung up 6 wins and 9 losses in 20 games. He has an ERA of 3.48 and has fanned 70 batters in 132 innings. 3) The Australian international free agent phenom, SP Paddy Dethridge, has signed with the Yankees for a whopping $7.9M signing bonus. Wow! 4) San Francisco, Baltimore Confirm Deal: It won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles finalized a trade today. San Francisco will send 25-year-old first baseman Brandon Belt and $514,500 in cash to the Orioles, while the Giants will receive 21-year-old minor league starting pitcher Branden Kline. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," said the Giants general manager). The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players to join their new ball clubs by the end of the day. So far this season Belt is hitting .276 with 9 home runs.
