Does trading a player affect performance (more than just sad faces?)
Take a look at this screen:
I'll leave the player name out of it to keep the discussion unbiased. The season he was with CHW for the full season, he was very productive, however once being traded around the entire 2013 season, his numbers dropped. To make it more confusing, the time before CHW traded him, he was struggling mightily--worst since the league's inception. Does any of this matter? Will signing this guy (he's a FA during the offseason) create a more stable environment for him to perform better hopefully? Is it random? Does it matter? Hopefully this makes sense! I guess it's nice too that it can work as a trade deterrent in online leagues, where things get out of control quickly.
Which that's something I've never understood--while we're playing the role of a GM, folks really think they can just step in and do a better job overnight by undoing what was already done by a guy who was likely trained professionally at a high level of education (master's degree usually) in management/business? Make the team yours (collective), but dude get over (collective) yourself! Get a grip!
