Very cool. Does that automatically include future versions?

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

This is great. Expect the community to grow and OOTP to make more money.

Are there any other benefits to having the game on Steam other than more exposure?

More units sold. I'm not going to throw out numbers but if OOTP can show a significant increase in sales, the income generated will allow Markus to apply more resources to development. I don't think it's hyperbole to suggest that the time is now for a boost in design and functionality. Without additional sales it would not be possible.

I'm not necessarily a steamophile but definitely understand the need to get this game out of it's niche market.

Increased sales translates to more $$$ and to more features down the road. Enough new sales might even get you graphics or head to head before too long.

To all those worried about having to use Steam: Don't be. It's simple and quick to download, and it's a safe (that is, it won't give you a virus or anything).

This is awesome news.

To all those worried about having to use Steam: You don't have to. It's not going to be Steam-exclusive.

Haha this too. But really, lots of users have misconceptions about what it is on these forums. Just trying to clear the air a bit.

But if you DO use Steam then you can play OOTP on any number of computers that you own with just one license. And you can run OOTP easily on your big screen TV.

I assume you can...I think that's how it works with FM & CM. How many though, I am not sure of.
