I have tried to download the new patch but "Franchise Manager has quit unexpectedly" shows up every time. I cannot even open the game to relicense.
Sigh --- I have been waiting for this fix for a long time but I seem to be back at square one.

I thought the bug was only for Mac users running on Mavericks, and I don't have Mavericks yet.. Maybe I misunderstood

Here´s my problem: When I started playing new game in Sibir as normal, the roster is grey and the player ratings are unavaileble in some reason. It is hard to play without the ratings I just don´t understand why, the game has been work perfectly before that. I have the 1.3.13 patch. I would be pleased if someone is capable to help me.

when you edit a player above 15 rating he doesent show on the roster page anymore cos of the filter is limited to only 15

It was a pleasant surprise to see the new awards being given out in the newest build... I didn't read this in the release notes. So it's nice to see:

- MVP
- Playoff MVP
- Goalie of the Year
- Best Defensive Forward

Naturally this adds to the game, so... thanks!

Unfortunately the existing issues with the awards continue to exist and in fact seem to have worsened. Namely:

- Awards page lists the wrong people as having won. This used to occur less frequently, mostly with retired players, but now it's happening A LOT and also with active players. Clare Martin, for example, is shown as having won a series of Gordie Howe's awards from 1949 to 1956, though Gordie is listed after that for himself. Rod Zaine is listed even with his 0 GP as the recipient of Gerry Cheevers' goalie awards. Sometimes a listing has no name, just a blank.

In my league which is currently 1977, only the most recent year has the correct listing, all other awards winners show 0's for all their stats!

- The listing will click through to the correct award winner, but these impostors have gone one step further and actually taken the award for themselves. If you go into the registry and actually find Clare Martin, you'll see Gordie's awards listed in Clare's history.

- The league news, at least, does report all of the correct original winners.

- Playoff MVP is not listed at all in the Misc Awards page, though MVP is.

Now as far as the awards logic goes:

- Best defensive forward is being awarded to defensemen. Namely, Bobby Orr wins this often. I don't think defensemen are eligible for this....

- Overall there are problems that can be looked at in the future with all of the "subjective" awards criteria - defenseman, defensive forward, mvp, playoff mvp... this can at least be tolerated for the time being, but:

- Playoff MVP is being won by some criteria that doesn't seem to involve the championship team as the strongest factor. Many non-champions are winning this. Ie. Gordie Howe won 9 times straight, and then Bobby Orr after that 9 times straight. Yes these two teams were interchangeably winning the championships but not 9 years consecutively! So while fine tuning the subjective awards logic is maybe for later, this one is pretty glaring.

Just get the latest patch (1.4.19/1.5.20) and it should work

I hate the Maple Leafs with a passion, so I decided to run a little experiment. Any player on the Leafs roster automatically has all his attributes lowered by 3, and his potential lowered by 100. Stars become bums, every single prospect flames out, and the team is constantly in free fall. The CPU GM makes regular panic moves in a futile attempt to improve the team, but the new players turn inexplicably horrible as soon as they suit up for the Leafs, while the players they dumped resurrect their careers for other organizations. Eventually I'll probably get bored of this and take over the Leafs to finally give their poor fans something to cheer for.

Anyhoo, I'd been simming with no issues until I got to January 6, 2018, when suddenly the game crashes every time I try to advance to January 7. I can't figure out why it's doing this, but it always happens. I'm uploading my .dat files (PikeParker.zip) for inspection. Any help would be much appreciated.

Installed latest patch 1.5.20 and started new game as the Basingstoke Bison of the EPIHL...no game stats appear when in Sim mode. No shots are displayed on the rink either. Went so far as uninstalling entire game and reinstalling from the link I got when purchasing, then I installed the same patch with the same issues. Help!

-In the edit lines screen, you can't put the same player on two different lines. So no defensive pairing for the 4th line.

-if you don't put anyone in the 3rd PK unit, the game says you have empty roster spots and can't proceed. Even if you set that line to 0 ice time.

I hope one of the devs see this. I have been editing my league that I've converted from a different game that doesn't have a career mode. I started editing the patch before 1.3.13 (the beat patch?) and continued thru V1.3.13.

I finally finished editing (it took me almost two months) and ran my last tests with V1,3,13. Satisfied, I installed the new patch and was ready to go. Unfortunately, With the new patch (v1.5.20) there are ZERO trades made between the AI, Now, I don't know if I can call this a bug because when I start a new NHL game, trades occur. However, I will also put this in the bug thread since Jeff mentioned that he wanted anyone with a peculiarity with a previous save to report it.

Just note that this SAVE had advanced a single day from the Aug 15 start date. I have uploaded this save to (hopefully) the proper place - see Super Hockey League.lg.zip

EDIT: I just tested a new fictional game with the same setup as my league (22 teams 2 confs 4 divs 80 games). There were ZERO trades in that as well. Something went very wrong with the latest patch. I also noticed that there are ZERO signings (extensions) during the regular season, but there are a few once the playoffs start.

If it matters, this is on a pc

I can confirm there is still an issue with the 80's playoff formats in version 1.5.20. In 1984-85 I had a Vancouver vs Calgary Cup final which would have been great if it was actually possible. That year the playoff matchups seemed to be random each round. First round there was a #1 rank vs #10 rank from a different conference for example. I only have this one year's example as I was fast simming 10 years at a time and just happened to stop the game in June 1985 and looked at the playoff tree. I began this league in 1947.

this is a known bug which has already been reported...
Workaround:
On July 1st 1981 change to "Commissoner Mode" and change the Playoff Format manually under "Edit League".
You have to do this manually on each season until 1985-86.
I hope that it gets fixed soon, too.

Started my historical mode in 1962. I make the playoffs, (which are set to a be a best of 7) and in the first round I loose game 5 and fall behind 3 games to 2. I click sim to next game, and next thing I know I'm in the draft and the playoffs dissapeared entirely, with no record anywhere of who won.

All of a sudden all draft pick trades have been reseted.
Saved the game a few hours ago, loaded the game a few min ago and all drat picks were reseted (every team has its original ones)

(2)
European players (drafted & FA´s) are still not signable by human players.
If you trade them they will sign for computer-controlled teams within a day.

(3)
Undrafted players like Keith Magnuson, Borje Salming are not signable.
After a while played they show as 'Tryout players' on expansion or WHA teams but never as regulars.

(4)
FA´s which told you they don´t want to renew their contract won´t sign for your team anymore no matter what you offer - NEVER again.
You can only trade them or they stick on your unsigned draftees list forever.

BTW, I offer my first-born, my right hand and my left leg if you fix all 4 bugs with the next patch!!

I was under the impression that this was fixed in 1.4.19

This is a historical game started on 1.5.20 and the only thing that I can think of that these contracts could be are a couple of offers to prospects and/or UFA's that didn't want to move overseas.

Not really sure this a bug, moreso a over "usability" thing.

The filters for pretty much all screens (roster, draft screen and so on) are not working as they should. The max in the filter for potential and rating are set at 15 and while i am aware that a 15 potential guy is probably something that is unlikely to pop up there is the chance that it will at some point. After all if you edit a player and give him all the max ratings he ends up with a 22 or so.

So what happens with a 15+ rating/potential guy is, that he does not show up at all, not at the draft screen for potential players, not on your roster if you have him and not in the stats pages.

In my opinion the filter should allow you to set a range from the lowest to the highest value possible in the game.

Playoff MVP always goes to the player with the highest rating still in the playoffs....won the cup with the Pens 6 time in 8 years and guess who was the PO MVP all the time ?
Yes, Bobby Orr - 8 times....funny thing is , 2 times the Bruins didn´t make the playoffs at all

So all in all, awards are totally a work in progress i assume, as none of them work properly yet

Just confirming this from my historical game started at 1986. Ed Belfour spent the 87/88 season as a try-out player in Philly and 88/89 in Boston and has played 59 games so far. I myself cannot even find a way to offer such contracts unless they are on the r-click on a player on my shortlist menu, which unfortunally ALWAYS crashes the game when doing this on an undrafted free agent.

Also I just saw the #4 overall pick in the last draft sign a 3 year $880k contract with $88k minors salary. I got two problems with this, 1) I've not been able to sign a first rounder for less than $4.1M salary and 2) I can't even check the tickbox for a two-way deal in my offers.
