More realistic injury results
I think the current injury settings seem pretty accurate regarding frequency of injury but the severity and duration of the injuries are a bit over-the-top and a constant source of complaint in my online league.

I would LOVE to be able to set the injury severity separately from the injury frequency. I'll often wind up with five or six players on the 60-day DL at once, and therefore turn down the injury frequency to avoid losing the entire team, even though I would like to see a higher number of DtD or 1-2 week injuries.

Please look at my suggestion here http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...t-digital.html
I think it could work for what you are suggesting.

Trouble with injuries, especially with pitchers, is the reason that he did not play that day, week or month. Was he hurt, was he fatigued or just in a slump. We may be able to access disabled lists over that past so and so years, but the old stuff, no way. So, without looking at old newspapers, we have no idea why so and so player missed 30 games in 1954. So the only thing that can be done is to base the amount of injury based on what percent of the games that the player played. That will work decent on the batters, but the pitchers are much tougher.
One thing I would like to see implemented, which I have been pushing for many years, and it may actually be in there now is: If so and so was on a team and they played 162 games and HE played in 162 games, the MOST he could get injured for would be that game, but maybe also his 'status' be reduced to a lower amount. So, he may not be hurt enough to sit out, but he is not 100 percent. If he missed 5 games, basically the same thing. So the bottom line is that he can't be injured for more games than he missed in real life. SP can also be done that way, based on the average number of starts that all the SP had that way. If he is close to that amount, he won't suffer a season or 2 month long injury. Closers would also be fairly easy to set up this way, as it would have be based on how many games he missed that were save opportunities. Now this would not be real accurate, as some closers get rested if they appear 2 or 3 games in a row. The rest of the pitchers, that would be a tough one. There is no 100 percent historical way to do this in historical leagues. Also throw in the factors like 2013 Cabbie was hurt the last month, but only missed a handful of games because he played hurt. His stats reflected this, but we know that, but there is no way for the software to know that his stats were terrible that month because he was hurt of if he was just in a slump.
