Mount Cove, Alpine Swap Players

Early Sunday morning Mount Cove agreed to move first baseman Aubry Ward to the Alpine Cowboys for starting pitcher Greg Hood.

"I find it strange to be traded before i even played a game for them, we will see how this turns out i guess." said Hood. Later that night Hood took the mound for his new team and picked up his first win of the season against Crandall.

The move leaves Alpine with only 5 pitchers on their roster, expect another move to come before play starts this weekend.

Breaking News………………………………………………….

Giants Jump On Mooney, Hang On For Win
The Crandall Giants scored 5 runs off Twin Mooney in the first inning and they held on for a 9-8 win over Springwillow. A game recap will be in Saturday’s Coastal Dispatch early edition.

Game Log
I find it ironic that the game plays out this way, Twink gave up 4 hits and 4 walks in the first inning in his return to Crandall.

Oyster Creek 2B Grant Out 2 Weeks

Wayne Grant had a few things to say about Mount Cove SS Kenny Fuller after he stepped on his wrist after tagging him out at 2nd base on an attempted steal. “Bush league play right there, bush league. The play was over; there is no need for that.” As a result of the play Grant will be out two weeks with the injury to his wrist.

Oyster Creek signed FA Oscar Jones to fill Grants spot on the roster.

Loving that Twink got lit up in his first appearance against Crandall. They haven't been so hot thus far so was great seeing them absolutely hammer the Springwillow pitching

I thought it was very ironic how the game played out, worst start of any pitcher so far this year in the league.
