Help for newcomer

Hi everyone. This looks like a great product, just purchased yesterday. I am interested in historical matchups mainly and would like to schedule games between teams from different eras, i.e 61 yanks vs 27 yanks, etc. How do I go about setting up a "game" which gives me the freedom to do this. I also want to manage against the computer, not sure how to set that up, thanks.

Create a league - can be anything, but just to keep it quick make it small historical.

Once created, go to "league setup", "functions", "edit league structure."

On this screen you will see an option to import historical team. Click on that and follow the prompts. You can also delete the fictional teams while on this screen. Add/delete divisions as you like, and import/locate the teams as you like.

You'll have to create a new schedule, which can be done from this screen, or after words in league setup where you can customize your schedule more or import historical ones.

Set up the rest of your league as you like for things like finances, minors, etc etc. You can also download faces, logos, uniforms for historic teams too. This can be done in game through the Add Ons Central.

This should get you started. Ask more questions as required.

Please explain what steps you took and exactly where you got stuck at.

At some point I got message after import that no players were available and I could not import any team not within year I keyed in

if Blue doesnt help ya with it or you dont figure it out i will make screenshots. I have severe weather headed my way and want to get off my PC.

Ok When you go to Edit League Structure and hit Import Teams a box will appear you can use any of the following historical database.odb, master.cvs or teams.cvs. I used odb and teams for the Sox & Cubs. Next choose year refresh teams list, set the import options and import team,repeat til you get the teams you want realign if need be and delete any teams you do not want and hit generate schedule when done.
