How would you handle 6 divisions?

I want start a new custom league well kinda many of the teams will be real teams. 27 of them it's gonna real MLB teams total of 48 team all USA cities only.
League I will relocate the Mets and White Sox just one team per city Angels back to Anahiem Angels and will relocate Blue Jays to
USA. I will have six divisions with 8 teams each.
Problem besides which new cities I want the divisions be kinda by geographical locations
I was thinking just adding all major metros with no team but some geographical locations have more major cities than others. Trying to keep to that 8 team per divions.

But divisions this what I came
Up with are;
northeast
South
central
Mid-west
Southwest
Northwest

Seems pretty good right?

Also some cities can fit into two divisions because of locations but some states could have multiple teams you would think good rivalries but to keep balanced I might have to separate some which sucks

Well since they'll be travelling to Honolulu anyways, why not just give Anchorage or Nome a team too? Nice way to rack up the air miles.

I personally would pick Nashville over Louisville and perhaps Buffalo instead of Norfolk. Also for that empty spot in the northwest my vote goes for Boise. The Boise Spuds.

I thinking of Boise and Austin but geographically speaking Austin might be too far away but it's a bigger city. I pretty much have to go into knowing it won't be perfect

What about Nashville in the South, Memphis in the Mid-West (bump Wichita), which puts Buffalo in the North-East, bring in Houston to the Mid-West, bump San Antonio to the South-West and move Los Angeles to the North-West.
Also, if you are looking for fun division names, I've used Colonial, Atlantic, Desert, Plains, Pacific, and Hurricane as division names. (I also might suggest making the Central Division called the Mid-west and vice-versa, works out better geographically.

i would move Oakland to Sacramento, then Sacramento to Fresno or something. The bay area (SF,oak,SJ) can't support 3 teams, and then have another in sacramento just 90 miles away

SF
SJ
Sac
Fresno

is a better spread for northern California. well fresno is central but still

and I like Alaska as a team as well. Juneau? Anchorage? just call em Alaska

did you figure this one out? if not, in short.

create your league, release all players to FA, delete all FA's,(at this point I purge the DB but I don't know if that is really necessary) set player creation modifiers to min. 18 & max 23, then fill all teams with fictional players.

if you need more detail let me know and i'll slap a video together

I tend to fudge geographic boundaries a bit, since leagues in real life do it all the time.
