Moneyball Challenge

Hey guys just thought I'd share this little campaign I've been trying to achieve in historical replay. It's based on the movie Moneyball about the Oakland A's GM Billy Beane. In 2001, the A's won 103 games with a very limited budget. The challenge is to equal or pass the number of wins playing as the A's in 2001.

A couple rules:
1. No Damon, Jason Giambi, or Isringhausen, just like in the movie. It might be easier to start year or two early to get this done without the budget strain of releasing players
2. Stay within the budget - pretty self-explanatory
3. No World Series is necessary - they didn't win it in real life so no need to in the replay

My personal best is 96 wins and a playoff series win. Please feel free to share any successes (or failures) you have with the challenge.

FYI -- for what it's worth, the "Moneyball" season w/o Giambi/Damon/Izzy was 2002, not 2001.
