Is it common in college to have a catcher pitch this much?
This is a first year draft player that I found while sorting pitchers by potential ratings. Notice that he is a catcher but his pitcher position rating is a 19, vs 5 for a catcher. I suppose I should be asking if it is common anywhere (I mean in OOTP world). I have seen other weird things in the game, such as a 59 year old manager having 68 years experience.

There are guys that do both, but those numbers are off...not enough rest.
Maybe at the small school level, but not in the SEC. |

With those combined numbers and that catcher rating...looks like he was a pitcher/DH in college to me.

Georgia Tech has had a couple of pitcher/catchers in recent memory. Matt Wieters was the starting catcher and the closer at Tech and more recently Zane Evans who was drafted by the Royals.

He has no real future as a catcher.
