Quick Series/Quick Start Playoffs. Sort of like a Quick Start Game, but better!

- QUICK SERIES *OR* QUICK START PLAYOFFS

Say I want to do a world series rematch between the '75 Cincy Reds and The '75 Boston Red Sox. Or, I want to play out a hypothetical series between the 1988 Red Sox and 1988 Mets. Or how about a fantasy seven game series between the '27 Yanks and the '98 Yanks. Would the '07 Red Sox get revenge on the '86 Mets in a seven game series?

Rather than create a WHOLE new game, import the teams, then sim until October (if you want), you would have a feature that would import any team in history and create a quick series of any length between the two.

This could also allow you to recreate or setup playoff series. Like, if I wanted to recreate the playoffs from 2007. You can quickly set up a tournament that includes a Division Series, Championship series and a World Series where you would just insert any team you'd want from the laman database.

Maybe you'd want to create a post season tournament with all the worst teams in baseball history. Maybe a tourny with the greatest teams of a franchise? Lots of possibilities with this.

It would be in the start screen menu, where "Create new custom game" and "Create Quickstart" live.

Why do you sim until Oct?

When I want to do a match-up between two teams I just import them, edit the schedule to 1 game, run the day then have my play-offs.

Technically no, you don't have to sim until October. I do it myself so the weather/time of year would be accurate or appropriate for a world series or playoff type series, but not necessary.

However, this type of feature could make creating a tournament/playoff series much simpler regardless of the weather, by stripping away all the options and features of a full blown game/season:

-Import teams
-Choose type of series or playoff tournament
-Select length of series or multiple series in Playoff tournament.
-Pick time of year
-Start series
-Have fun!

You would immediately be taken to the Playoff Coverage screen with games scheduled (along with games if necessary) pitching match ups stats, etc.

I agree with your suggestion, just pointing out a shortcut. When you edit your schedule, set the season opening date to 1 Oct. Then your play-offs will have that weather/time of year.

I second your suggestion. Me myself was dreaming about that option many times. It's needed in both historical and fictional setups.

And requested option from me that could make game even more appealing for newcomers -- to replay historical playoffs, World Series etc.

This would be a great idea. Starting an entire new league jst to set up a 2 team 7 game playoff is a tad annoying.
