Cruel Orioles!

Reading through some recent articles in my newspaper, I came across this one. Nice story, but I wondered why he was wearing a Pirates cap? Cruel Orioles!

It's a business. Nothing personal.

Nah. In my nasty mind, this is a Steinbrenner-type team owner who, having heard of Sporran's venture and not liking him very much, and realizing the bar might compete with his own "Steinbrenner's Steaks" down the block, played a dirty trick!

If it makes you feel better I made sure Mo Rivera would retire a Met, not a Yankee bwahahahahahaha

Weird! Good thing you are using an actual photo and not one of those historical facegen images in which we might see Mo in a Mets cap!

reason

it's because the story was generated and published in the paper 12/2002. He wasn't traded to Pittsburgh until 01/2003. Because you didn't read the story until after he was traded, the image below the story had already been updated by then.

He probably regrets opening the restaurant now.

In my league Mo Rivera got TRADED to the Giants. (The Giants then offered him to 'me' in Toronto, but why would I want him...)

Yes, that's exactly what happened (and a nice function of the newspaper, letting you "catch up" on the news like that). By the time I read the article, he had "changed hats."

See, that's why I gotta play fictional. Reading about that transaction, I'd be saying, "No, no, NO"!
