License limits...

I sent an email last night but haven't heard back yet. I know it's the weekend but I'd really like to play the game tonight or tomorrow....

I originally purchased the game on my aging laptop about a month ago. I bought a new laptop a few days ago and installed the game there. After playing with the new computer for a day, I realized I hated it and took it back to BB. I exchanged it for a much nicer, more expensive model.

Last night I was setting up the new machine and then I downloaded and installed OOTP 14. When I entered my license, the program told me I didn't have any more uses on that license. I guess it caps you at two machines.

Does anyone know if there is some leeway on this rule? Also, I don't think this will work but is it possible for me to just copy the game and all it's files to a zip drive and then put them on the new computer? I'm pretty sure I'd still have to install it for it to work here, but I'm willing to try anything.

I don't want to have to re-purchase the game and I don't think I should have to frankly. I can't believe that Best Buy would be more understanding about a $700 do over than OOTP is about a $40 one.

Any thoughts/recommendations?

I would contact the powers that be through a support ticket or private message. They may be able to reset your license for you.

Submit a support ticket and you will be helped. It's as simple as the support team releasing one of your licenses.

This will get you bye till someone can release one of your licenses. On your old laptop...release the license and it'll be available to use on your new one.
You should have done that with the one you returned to BB.

Once they get you straightened out, you can relicense your old laptop.
