Rotation usage at end of the season
I know there has been a lot of talk in the past about how the AI used their rotation at the end of the season, especially when a team has clinched their division.
Common practice is to skip you top SPs and save them for the playoffs. Well in the on-line league(no AI teams)(running the next to last v14 patch) that I run (TMBU) we just wrapped up the regular season. My team had clinched the division before the last 10-day sim. I had my rotation set to 6-man, strict. I started the sim with my #2 scheduled to pitch so my rotation was (#2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) BUT when my #1's start came up the game started a reliever. My #2 pitched his first start but a reliever started in his place on his last scheduled start. Another division winner has the same thing happen starting a reliever for his #1's last start and skipping his #2. A 3rd team had clinched it's division but had a 5-man rotation, start highest rested and this team followed their set rotation. A team in the wild card race (had clinched) did not have it happen. Now if this is how the AI is supposed to do it for AI teams that is good but it certainly looks like the AI overwrote the pitching rotation I, and the other team, had set. Is it supposed to do that? Anyone else seen this? Last edited by byzeil; 10-23-2013 at 02:42 AM. Reason: added info |
