Unsigned Draftee Question

Hello,

Each Unsigned Draftee has a "signing deadline". What happens if the draftee is not signed before that date? Does it just mean they can't join my team this year, or do I lose my rights to the player?

I should also ask - in the newest roster update, it seems all my team (Calgary Flames)'s unsigned draftees need to be signed the first month of the game. Is this an error? Do I actually have to sign them all right away, or are the dates shown in the game wrong?

This is a good question. I also noticed this. In EHM, this date meant the date that you lose their rights. However, in FHM it seems like this is the date that the player either goes back to juniors or overseas for the season. Certain players I know you can't sign at all because they are contracted to the KHL. The KHL and NHL have an agreement in place where they can't steal each others players.
