Tried this. The game with the replaced world file crashes when trying to open it, or it crashes when saving it.

Basically, I'd like to use my edited world file with the MLB roster. Adding the MLB as a template adds all the states and cities I've already removed. At least it doesn't adds again a state that's been turned into a country.

Try to PM Bigrod. I think he'd be the best bet on someone that may know how to deal with the world files.

i can find ootp/data but cant find where it says quickstart tried for hours and cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this lol help please really want to learn how to do this so i can use these

After I click data it takes me to next folder with two folders in it that are fonts and skins, and thats it. What am I doing wrong?

ok I messed with it somemore...now I got it to show up in the quickstart option but it wants me to add it in add on central before i can use it and it wont load in there says I need to add to server but when i attempt it doesnt work and i honestly dont have a clue about going about this

Try making sure you're updated to the latest patch.

When I load the new roster set how do I make sure that logos, faces, etc are still included?

I'm also having this issue. I moved the quick_start folder to the data folder, but I'm still unable to find the update in Add-Ons Central. Can anyone help me out?

I noticed when I ran the update that it asked me for the location to install the update (where the default was something like: user\mydocuments\ootp developments\ootp baseball 14) and not to my custom location. I'm thinking maybe you ran the update to the default location and not where you installed OOTP 14 on your computer.

But now when I look in where the default would've been I do see that it did create a Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball\temp folder but there are no files in any of these folders.

You shouldn't need to look in add ons central for the update. It'll be in the Quickstart Game menu.

It is in my Quickstart Game menu, but the description of the updated rosters says "This quickstart game must be loaded from our server before you can use it. Please open the Add-Ons Central game menu, locate the quickstart game in the files list, then download and install it." But I can't find it anywhere in add ons central. And the "create game" button on the quickstart menu is blurred out, so I can't start the game.

That happens when you aren't updated with a patch at least as recent as the patch we made the rosters on. If you download and install the latest patch you'll be able to load the quickstart from the quickstarts menu just fine.

this may be a dumb question, but is there a way to just import the ratings and/or the new draftable players rather than the entire roster? I'd love to play this but with Opening Day 2013 rosters.

I recently installed this roster update and while I have no problems opening it, the game starts acting up once I get started with it, specifically after enabling the inaugural draft. Doing anything in the OOTP window, from clicking a player's name to resorting the columns to checking the scout's recommendation results in a busy cursor for several seconds, then the entire window will jump up and left a bit, then back down and right. Then after a few more seconds of the busy cursor, it shows me what I'm after. This repeats endlessly, though I did not have the patience to make it through the draft.

Is this a known issue with the roster update or might there be something I can do to fix it?

It shouldn't be a system issue (6 core cpu, 16gb ram, recently defragged, no virues, etc.).

The roster update isn't any different than the default rosters as far as how it was made. There shouldn't be any reason for this to be happening, and I haven't heard about it from anyone else.

I don't see any way the roster update itself could cause those sort of problems, are you sure there couldn't be something else wonky with your game/system?

I guess the only advice I can really give is to make sure you've installed the latest patch.

It's theoretically possible but would take you a long, long time to get right. Unless you're really determined I would not recommend trying it.

Thanks lucas. Nothing up with my system that I'm aware of at least. Default 2013 rosters don't have any similar issues. I am patched up. I just downloaded the game a few days ago actually, my first time playing since 2006 I believe.

I'm going to be re-installing Windows on a new hard drive in the next couple of days anyway so maybe that will resolve it, whatever it might be.
