48 team International League, full logo, uni, ballparks, full minors
This full league setup includes 48 international franchises, each representing a national baseball delegation responsible for assembling the most competitive baseball team to represent their country. Franchises are not limited to domestic players, all players are drafted and traded as normal, but there is only one franchise per country, which bears that nations coat of arms as its logo and a flag-based uniform. All affiliates (all minor league levels included) are based in different cities within the same country.
This league was made to utilize and excellent national flag and logo set released years ago on this forum. My extreme apologies to the creator, but I do not remember who initially released these, but I can claim no credit for any of the artwork included in this league file. I have included the files which I did not use for a franchise, so if anyone wanted to expand or relocate, they have that option available. The league has two subleagues of 24 teams, European and Pacific, with 4 team divisions in each based on geographical and historical connections. 32 teams qualify for a massive postseason tournament, with seedings based on regular season play. Full stadiums are included, with ball flight models inputted. These borrow from the numerous fictional stadium sets that have been released on these forums. Perhaps my favorite part of this league is the variety in playing locations, every stadium I picked reflects that part of the world, and it keeps things from becoming static. Jerusalem's stadium is packed amongst dense dwellings, Egypt is in the desert, many Latin American stadiums are more classic looking, with more dense seating arrangements, East European stadiums are largely built amongst the classical cityscapes, etc. There is a level of excitement when traveling to each new location that isn't present in regional or national leagues. The financial model is based upon modern MLB contracts. My leagues always include more revenue sharing and the like than modern MLB, to help avoid small market CPU teams from falling off the cliff in the game. Market sizes vary drastically, but with the sheer number of teams, it should not be difficult to find trading partners to maintain a small market team. Historical league totals were used to simulate late 80's-early 90's play (taken from someone else's work on this forum), and I've been extremely pleased with the realistic stat output by the league's best players over the long term. Three feeders provide talent for the draft, a high school, junior college, and collegiate league. Almost every nation was painstakingly added to these feeders by me, so all but 30-40 very small, underdeveloped countries will have players entering the league. Baseball regions like the US, latin America, and East Asia, will have a slightly larger percentage of players than others, but since this league assumes the internationalization of baseball, most countries will produce players. Since most of the world is covered, I did not utilize the international players options. At any rate, this league was created before many of those options became available. I want to emphasize that despite using international flags and names, this is not a no-foreignors league. For myself and many others, the fun of playing this is in talent acquisition, which goes by the wayside with foreign restrictions. It can, however, be easily modified as such, and if this is your intention the league provides a tremendous starting point for that. The league starts immediately after the playoffs end, allowing you to enter the offseason and start the league any way you want. If you want to take over an existing roster, the option is there, and some 25 years of league history is present. For those wanting a fantasy draft, I strongly advise that you do not use the fantasy/initial draft mechanic, but instead release all players and then do a free agent draft. This maintains the market sizes and financials that have been set up. To play the league, simply place the downloaded league file into your saved games, and copy the contents of the ballparks folder into your ballparks folder. This is not a quickstart, since that doesn't copy custom art directly, but you can use it as such if you simply maintain a copy of the original file. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/d5kjxdiwskzzf9z/0VigABIJJt |

For those who are interested in a version utilizing "national teams", and having limited or no foreigners, I am considering making a version that features that and running some tests on it. Since I will mostly be subtracting leagues and changing a rule or two, the final setup isn't going to be that difficult once I figure out the intricacies of the no foreigners system.

Slowness
I had made one of these up about two weeks ago and suffered alot of slowness and not responding messages. What tweaks could I have made? I had 4 divisions in each of two league with 6 teams in each for 48 teams. Do you find it easier working with smaller divisiona with the same number of total teams?

I assume you are referring to poor performance from the application. I can't tell you specifically why one 48 team league with full minors would crawl while at least on my desktop the sim blazes by, but there are some things I do to get better performance that you may not have thought of.
1. Make sure to enable the option to delete those who haven't made the majors 2. Don't track too detailed of stats when it's not necessary. I want to see the full slate for the major leagues. Rookie ball, it's just slowing things down. 3. You can delete numerous files in the save game folder. Deleting all the files in the messages folder, plus the message.dat (which will recreate those files if you do not delete it too) will help. Also, delete text files for league and team history, but keep the players. The html files for gamelogs, boxscores, and others can be deleted. Doing these can trim HUNDREDS of mb's off a very large league if it hasn't been done in a while. 4. After I've finished my tests and start the league "fresh", I use the purge tool in the database folder. This will get rid of junk in the .dat files for players, leagues, and teams that have been deleted. |

Could you post a zip file just containing the logo, ballcap, and jersey set for the teams? They were made by tombair, who has them on all on his photobucket, but since photobucket is very slow, it would be nice to have a file containing everything.
Or is this already up on the site? |

If you know the original creator of the files, he may be able to get you a link, but I hesitate to be sharing as a standalone something I didn't create myself. It's been years since I discussed this league with him, but I had gotten his blessing on this creation a long time ago and it just honestly took me this long before I devoted some time to creating a shareable version of one of my leagues (when I originally created this, I wasn't as adept with longterm test sims and really didn't have the CPU power to do these efficiently either).

I would like this in an all-in-one .zip file, too, please. I do not have a Dropbox account and downloading each one of these files individually is a huge PITA.

Hey guys, my sincere apologies for not realizing earlier that posting the folder on dropbox wouldn't let you download all of it at one time. I hadn't been checking this forum recently so I didn't know that the issue was going on until now. This should all be fixed now.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8d8pdl0e2u...ague%20zip.zip Please let me know if there are any issues at all and I will be more diligent in checking back. |

Amazing! Absolutely fantastic. I'm dowloading it right now and probably will even try to write a Dynasty report featuring this league.

I hope you don't mind, I threw up a quick page on the wiki, and also put the file on the wiki file server.
