FM has a fantastic data base of existing players around the world and is a solid choice for current season play. However, its scouting has never worked beyond the player's knowledge of the real world and looking up 'hidden gem' threads. Future seasons have none of OOTP's flair and accuracy.

FM has no real fictional or customization options.

Thus FM is a solid vehicle for getting around the current world. Using OOTP this way, however, is like owning a Tesla or DeLorean and only using it to drive your grandma to CVS to pick up her prescriptions.

You can customize FM. It's just not easy.
